Pope Staying

GREAT news. Hopefully he makes a leap next year and we utilize him correctly. I just don't get some of you that bash these kids. It's on our staff to make these kids better and put them in a position to succeed and offensively that isn't close to happening. You bash the **** out of Richt and call him clueless, behind the times, etc but then when kids show frustration you bash the **** out of them too.

Well see alcohol comes from different crops and processes. Bourbon is from corn, scotch from malted barley, rye from rye, vodka manly potatoes, rum sugarcane and so on. I truely have no idea the impact of this or if anything I said was true but crop rotation is sound farming so why not. Glad you got a laugh out of it.

Much better one out of that. I had a feeling that's what you were alluding to. It's a **** of a lot more funny that you didn't know where you were going with it.

I'm a bourbon drinker, myself. And while I do not rotate my corn, I'm not beholden to any one distiller.

This is very good news. We need all of the players in the 2018 class to stick together, work hard and ball out. That's critical to the future of Miami football for the next 2-3 years. He hasn't had that many targets and the QB play has been sub-standard. Give him a chance to show what he has.

Good news he is staying. Bad news he felt the need to “announce it.”

Pope staying means he likes what he hears with the OC possibilities

Or Mork is getting canned and he thinks the next dude will be better

Pope's a good kid, just was frustrated with the way things turned out this season.

I know some of you are foaming at the mouth to hate him & send him our the door, but just give him some time with a halfway decent QB he'll prove himself.

Agreed. I look at someone like Chad Thomas when considering Pope's freshman season. The individual is not blameless, but the scheme and levels of coaching ineptitude (in Chad's case Dorito etc.) really hindered their development. It took bringing in Kul/Diaz for Chad to flourish his JR/SR years, and I expect the same from Pope (hopefully with Richt gone; minimally with an innovative OC).

A guy can dream at least.

A true freshman playing for an offensive circus led by a bumbling ringmaster can only end in failure. If Pope had chosen Bama he would look like the next coming of Amari Cooper/Calvin Ridley, and we'd be making threads crying about how we can't keep elite So Fla talent.
