Every bad sign you look for in a punt returner, Pope has. If this coaching staff continues to trot him out there, they are asking for a disaster. Luckily his two muffed punts haven’t cost us this year (yet). But in a close game, it will. Someone else needs to be returning punts. It’s that simple.

100%. I almost came unglued when I saw him go back there again after the muff. If he were Devin Hester, I wouldn’t let him return another one with how many he’s dropped. Considering how irrelevant he actually is as a returner, if I’m Manny, he doesn’t get anywhere near the return team again.

We can overcome his ineptitude against lesser programs like FSU. We cannot against teams who have a pulse. He’s done, IMO.

I think they realize Pope is mentally weak so they are trying to build up his confidence. If they bench him completely, he'll crack.

That said, 2 PR fumbles in 3 games, time to sit. Let Pope play WR and focus there. Let Restrepo have a crack at PR full time now

I agree Pope freezes up when he sees a different color jersey running towards him and just waits to get tackled instead of trying to get up the field.
