IMO, he would need to win the ACC CG, or at the very least, make it there. I've always said I dont see Mario leaving Oregon to come here. So if its not Manny, then we are looking at KU's HC or someone of that caliber IMO. But I do expect a complete do over of the operation. And I'm confident that Blake James will be gone.

That inept little man.

If he wins out, he will certainly be our head coach. Hopefully, Blake isn’t here to give him an extension.

If we win out even with missing the acc title game I expect our inept administration to bring him back. No matter what they say they just don't care about winning or having us competing with the big boys. The hamster wheel of mediocrity will continue on.
Unfortunately, I think you're right. Like I said, welcome to 7-5/8-4 ****. Not good enough to be relevant but not bad enough to move the program forward. This is the worse year in the past 30 years of the program. Blake stays and Manny stays....the hamster wheel keeps turning.

DOOMSDAY SCENARIO:

The feckless BOT faction retains enough votes to keep Flake and Manuela. The compromise is they [BOT] authorize "more resources" to make the program "more competitive" to show the ACC Miami is "serious" about competing.

Blake and Manuela stick around through 2025.

Sleep tight ladies....

Record against the poor competition is irrelevant Manny is not Miami Caliber, nor is his staff. Manny is t even P5 caliber. People are basing keeping him on this poor schedule and the coastal. We should at worst finish in the top ten, and top 4 competing for championships should be the norm. This staff isn’t doing that. Upgrade w a competent staff that can. BJ isn’t a P5 AD either..jettison him ASAP too.

Poor schedule? We have one of the top 10 roughest schedules!

Let me ask you one question. Of all the mind numbing losses we've had the last few years like FIU, LaTech, and several others, how many of those do we lose with TVD starting the way he's playing now? A real QB makes ALL the difference at this level. How about we let the season play out now that we have a QB that can get the job done.

For the record, I think we beat UF and UNC in 2019 with TVD. We also beat FIU and LaTech. ****, that's just one season. I guarandamntee you **** poor QB play has cost us a ton of games the last few years. Pitt in 2017 also comes to mind.

All that being said, Manny the DC is dead man walking.

The problem is that Diaz Sr. has a ton of power with the idiots on the BOT and if he can sell them on keeping his incompetent son around, he will. Winning out and having 9 wins will be enough to keep him around. It's unfortunate, but at this point it is what it is. Diaz Jr. is not the answer as a HC, we are merely prolonging the inevitable, and that's the problem. No one has the guts to rip the bandaid off and go out and get a real coach and have a real program.

If you have a merely competent coach, you beat FIU and LA Tech. A competently managed program probably beats UF and UNC as well, or at the least doesn't dig themselves into deep holes due to being completely unprepared. That's the problem. You shouldn't have to have a potential 1st round pick at QB to beat midmajors, especially at a school like Miami. It's shameful how many of our "Fans" are reaching for excuses for a guy that allowed his garbage OC to have a gameplan that ignored the fact that FIU's defense couldn't stop the run. Manny Diaz is sub .500 coming off of bye weeks. You know how bad that is? That's borderline impossible.

Diaz is what he is, a guy that after he gets fired from Miami will NEVER coach at a school worth a **** ever again. Diaz is arguably worse than Shannon, because Shannon at least was in demand at some point as a DC. Shannon at least oversaw some **** good units. Diaz on the other hand, has had units that were D'Onofrio level bad. Frankly, D'Onofrio's units at least attempted to tackle, so there's that.

I think he’s done unless he somehow engineered a magnificent Bowl victory against Wisconsin or some other decent opponent that would clearly give him another year. Not sure about Blake, who’s the real problem.

Manny is just the symptom.

If we win out or win 2 of 3, he stays. BJ starts singing like a Castrati, and the eunuchs on the BOT will play along. What was the saying, “Prepare thy **** “? We’re talking Miami here. Reactive, not proactive.

Gotta disagree with you. Butch Davis was competent when he lost to ECU in 1999. What did he not have? A starting QB that could hit the broad side of a Bubba Franks.

And no, you don't need to be a 1st round pick to win in college. What you DO have to be is better than Jarren Williams, N'Kosi Perry, or Tate Martell. By the way, D'Eriq King did quite well last year against everyone but the big boys, because he was good enough to beat the mid-majors, but not the big boys. Don't you think it's strange that Manny went from not being able to beat FIU and LaTech with crap QB play, to beating teams like that, and only losing to real teams when King took over? ****, do you think we struggle with Central Michigan in 2020 the way we did in 2019 if King is playing QB? The thing with King was when teams figured out he couldn't beat them with his arm, they figured out how to stop him by taking away our run game.

Now, we have a QB that can scan the field and keep a D honest. That is really all you need to do to win at this level. Diagnose and deliver. Period. You don't have to be a first rounder to do that. See Ken Dorsey. However, if you have a QB like that who is 6'4" and 230, with a howitzer hanging off his right side, really good things can start to happen. Things like, I don't know, outscoring the other team.

Manny's biggest failure was getting the right QB in place. He did go out and get King, who was an upgrade, but not the answer. Now he has the answer, and a possible replacement in Garcia if TVD goes down in the future.

Let's let the season play out.

Now, if we lose to FSU, my pitchfork is heading to Coral Gables.
