Butch
I voted Butch because I just don't see Richt out-coaching anyone for a NC and I don't think Richt has that dog in him. Butch might not out-coach anyone for a NC either, but I think he still might have that dog in him. Plus he might out-talent his way to a NC (he would have in 2001 and at UNC). Richt has had the most talented team in the country a couple times, and still hasn't made it out of the SEC. Maybe at UM he can recruit the most talented team ever, and that will get him over the hump.
Butch Davis Da Gawd's career head to head records vs:
VaTech: 2-8, FSU: 2-6, East Carolina: 1-3, UVA: 2-3, NC St: 1-4, GaTech: 2-3
So Butch has losing records to 5 ACC schools, and 3 Coastal schools...and we have a rocket scientist bringing up Richt's record vs UF? Lmao.
Mullen is a younger Butch imo. I love the way he recruits...he can get DTs and stays local. He would also bring Manny Diaz, a miami Native with alot of local clout that will help in recruiting. The dude has MSU, a perennial bottom feeder, winning games in easily the toughest division in the country, the SEC West. He is the redneck we are looking for that will run up the score on opponents and will not be a soft PC guy like Richt.
Richt must be avoided at all costs. Even if he brings Eason with him....we won't beat FSU nor VT. He is a choke artist.
Mullen
So your knock on Richt is he got a lot of talent and didnt win but you are praising Butch for amassing a lot of talent and never winning either? you make no sense. Its not like Butch has ever lead a college football team any further than Richt has. When I see Mark Richt at the top of the list I realize our fan base has the same expectations as our admin.
NCs don't matter, occasionally winning the Coastal is the new goal.
Richt is 83-37 in the SEC.
Butch is 15-17 in the ACC.
Has he ever built a National Championship team as a HC? Cause Butch has at least done that.
He's had the most talented or almost most talented team in the SEC East, the easier side, for years and hasn't won ****.
Butch took a team that was hit with massive scholarship losses and built it into a behemoth. He wasn't the coach the year they won it, but he built it. The year before we were robbed, and only a Cane non fan would say we weren't.
Bottom line is, only one of these guys has proven he can build a National Champion. How the **** are you gonna refute that?
Winning lots of regular season games and winning championships are two totally different things.
I'm not a Butch guy but come on now. If Butch stays at Miami he accomplishes at least what Coker did, most likely more.
Richt has been at a powerhouse program for 15 years, Butch was at one for 6 and left before he could enjoy what he built.
Mullen
A proven winner
sits in 5th place in division year and after year
zero big wins
zero wins against teams with 10 wins
best win is against an 8-5 team
sounds like the guy to turn it around

NFL came calling for Butch. Don't think that's the case with Richt. That tells you something.
Butch and it ain't even close.
He is the hungriest, most motivated and most no ***ks given guy out of these three.
That's what we need. Not another nice, PR robot.
Butch is the only one that fills these boxes.
Those are perhaps the dumbest three boxes I have ever heard of.
What's needed is a coach who knows HOW TO COACH, Can assemble a staff, Recruit and Develop. Those are the boxes. Period.
Butch has been UNEMPLOYED for 7 of the last 11 years. The other 4 years he went .470 in the ACC. What Butch Davis did before the Class of 2017 was Born should not be forgotten but it certainly shouldnt be THE reason he is hired 16-18 years later. WE ALL LOVE WHAT BUTCH DID FOR US 17 Years ago, though half the BBB fans were in Diapers when he did it. Butch spent 4 years in the ACC and the BEST he could do was 3rd in the COASTAL and .500 winning percentage!!!!
Richt will get you doubles and triples all game long but no home runs. Butch will strike out a lot, but then hit a walk off home run in the bottom of the 9th.

It tells me, that you just really want Butch. Because the NFL calls EVERYONE who has success. Mark Richt has won 10 or more games (in the SEC) 9 of the last 15 years, Miami hasn't done it once since 2003. And Butch was only able to do this once. Not to say that the SEC is just God's gift to football, but it's better than the old Big East and the current ACC.
Butch is like 14-0 vs these Polls.

12-0 every season isn't realistic. Instead of using the supposed "alpha" mindset that you think will solve all our problems, use your brain. 10 wins a year puts you in the ACC Championship game every year. You win that you're most likely in the playoff. You need a little luck to get 11 and 12 wins. You know like an immaculate knee, a dropped two point conversion, or a wide right. So your knock on Richt is he got a lot of talent and didnt win but you are praising Butch for amassing a lot of talent and never winning either? you make no sense. Yeah, because winning 10 games and competing for the Coastal is the goal for you new school fans.
