We have no OC, so we should have ponied up the 1.3 million for an elite DC.

Getting cheap on the assistants will cost us wins later on, that I guarantee you

Getting Cheap? We've already spent more money on assistants than last year, and that's with two positions left to hire (Wr and Te), AND no OC. So how the **** are we being cheap

Refusing to offer a competitive salary to Aranda is the act of a cheap admin

Instead we went with the thrift option, Diaz, and what a mistake that was.

Of course we are using different benchmarks - you're comparing our commitment to that of last year...I am comparing our commitment to our rivals (FSU and UF) and the teams we hope to compete against

Realistically we have the third best staff the coastal right now. Sad.

You must be on staff or something. LSU was just talking about paying what 15 mil to get rid of their coach, obviously their pockets are deep. How do you know LSU didn't say that they would top anything Miami offered?

Hiring Diaz was a mistake based off of what? Your opinion? He hasn't coached a game for Miami yet. Just wow...

We don't have to pay an OC. That right there should free up 1.3 million easy if we have an admin who is willing to compete to win.

Salaries being equal, Miami is a better job. As you said, no guarantee the staff at LSU will even be around a year from now.

Did you not read anything I wrote. I'm done with you dude, you clearly don't understand anything. All you do is complain about every coach. If we had Harbaugh you'd complain about it. Why even post on this site? You clearly know nothing about football. you clearly only have ONLY negative views about everything, so whats the point?

You accuse me of not reading what you wrote, but you clea lay didn't read what I write or you wouldn't accuse me of being negative toward every coach. Here is how I graded the coaches... You can see for yourself

Richt: A
Kool: A
Searls: B+
Brown B
Rumph: D
Hartley: D
Banda: D

Diaz: F
Richt Jr: F

As for what you wrote, I just disagree. You think we don't have the money, but you thought we didn't have the money to hire Richt. We do have the money. Especially since we do not need to pay out big bucks for an offensive coordinator, that allows us to spend more on the DC

Yes, we needed to outbid LSU. Why is that so unfathomable to you? That's exactly what we can and should do

No I didn't say I didn't think we had the money to hire Richt. I've said didn't think Richt would be available to hire in the first place. He wouldn't have come here if he wasn't fired, regardless what the situation at UGA was looking like. He's the type of guys that when he signs a contract, he keeps it. Secondly if Richts son is only here as a GA, that hire is not an F in any way. We just don't know at this point.

Obviously you think Aranda would have been an A hire. But just because he is an A hire, doesn't mean that everyone else sucks. What if Aranda wasn't an option at all? If you take Aranda out of the equation, do you still grade Diaz as an F? He is clearly AT LEAST an average coach. I think he will be good, so I'd give the DC hire a B. It's not perfect, and could have been better, but do you know of any other realistic candidates (not named Aranda) that would have been better? I don't. Giving Diaz an F is downright stupid. What is Donofrio on your scale? Because Diaz is CLEARLY 2-3 letter grades better than that load of crap.

So If we use a normal grading scale like the one I detailed previously your grades but giving Diaz a more realistic grade. a "c", then that would translate to a B+. The only grade I'm assuming is an A hire at S&C due to the rumors of Ivey/Moffit.

So it looks like we are waiting for the S&C coach from one of the championship teams or a guy from a NFL playoff team since it hasn't been announced yet? Right?

If anybody else then it would be already announced

I'd that's the case yoy ean to tell me there are only a select few sc coaches that know what they're doing and everyone else doest . all the college programs don't have a good sc coach? Now tell me what is the difference between the sc coaches? Also why would a sc coach from the teams you named come to miami? Also please tell me the difference between these sc coaches? Thanks. You guys s seem to think a different sc coach is going g to build 20 lb of muscle. Beyond delusiln and misinformation on these messageboards

Pound for pound we've upgraded. I like the idea of two guys coaching in the secondary, 1 specifically CB's then 1 for the Safety's... Even though they're green, they aren't running the entire show, all they have to coach is concepts that the DC will distribute, as well as sound technique.

- Also, the improved defensive line will help the secondary out!!

The offensive side of the ball will be pretty good, simply because we now have a (competent) top 15 offensive signal caller, and with the improvement with the OL coaching, it'll produce a better overall product on offense... I'm looking fwd to seeing the ball given to a bruising big back (Coach up Chocolate, Tucker & Gus).

B+

Compared to the crap we had, this staff is a B for now, now lets see what happens when the ***** hits the fan
