Baxa missed kick & JT muffed punt?

There's plenty of blame to go around. Sure, those two would have made a difference, but the game plan in the fourth seemed to be all over the place.

It was a first game. It will get better.

Team loss. JT bad mistake not securing that ball. But Enos has to get him back in the game and get him touches. He had a nice catch and spin move for a first down. He’s a difference maker, get him the **** ball.

Baxa bad shank, but I thought Manny should’ve trotted him out for the 45 or so yarder instead of the 4th and 9. Makes that and a field goal wins it at the end. But that’s just me.
 
I will say this. Jeff Thomas shouldn't be fielding punts inside his own 20. Those punts are hardly EVER returned, so why have your explosive player fair catching the ball? Give me the guy with the absolute best hands back there. I do not believe that is Jeff Thomas. So yes, there is a bit of coaching involved in who returns punts, and who fair catches them.

He's been fielding punts for 2 years and has 2 muffs and 3 TDs (1 was called back but I'm counting it because fvck your bum *** hot take). You take the good with that bad and you probably never played football because you don't field punts inside the 10 and that's it.

Oh I know you don't field a punt inside the 10. So, do you put the guy in that fields punts inside the 10, or someone with enough working brain cells to know better?

Watch the play back, he made the right call. Outside the 10, 3 gators swarming to the football. Terrible time to muff but he did everything right except catch it. The kid is fine.

I'll take your word for it. No way in **** I am watching any of that again.
 
An experienced, much hyped junior wide receiver simply CANNOT make a mistake like that.

The missed field goal was also embarrassing. If either one of those things don't happen we probably win. Hard to say what's worse since both guys came in with game experience from previous years.

There are some fair criticisms to make of the staff for other things on Saturday, but you can't blame them for those two epic chokes. At some point players have to make plays.

Na. It was 4th and 1. Miami was on the look out for the fake and sent ZERO blockers for JT. He had no chance to return that punt. He shold've fair caught it and called it a day. Instead he tried to be superman and return the punt with 6 Gators running full speed aiming for his head and he got scared.

Fair catch the ******* ball JT. Low IQ play that cost us the game.

He did call fair catch on the muff?

Doesn't show it on the highlights but I'm certain he did.

I blame the refs,not properly tackling that cost us the game,baxa missed fg, and jt4 for either not fair catching it or just get out of the way when it's inside the 10 yard line.I also blame the coaching staff for not correcting the o-line when gators was shooting thru gaps help out the QB sack 10 times is bs and sloppy , plus all the **** penalties killed us as well.
 
Both plays are the fault of the players. Kickers should be able to make that kick and punt returners should A) not be fielding punts inside the ten and B) be able to cleanly field a fair catch punt. The coaches can't actually be on the field making fieldgoals and catching punts for the players.
