What's the big deal? Post an updated roster.
While they are at it, how about the 2025 schedule?
They are promoting season tickets for sale without letting you know the dates and teams on the schedule. What am I missing in this equation?

On the schedule, I'd assume the non-conference has taken longer to finish up than usual. Florida, Florida State, and Stetson are the only schools in the state that have released a full schedule. FGCU released "the majority" of their schedule yesterday with a couple of blank weekends and only three midweek games set. Never seen that before. Seems like something is up with the scheduling in the state this year.

Thanks for the update.

Is it common to cut kids who just arrived as freshman or is that related to the new roster caps?

It's been pretty typical for one or two freshmen to get cut in the fall. What was unusual this year was a) the number of players we started fall practice with and b) that returning players were cut.

The new roster caps don't go into effect until next year. This is actually the last year of the relaxed COVID roster limits.

Last year after the first practice we cut Alex Valentin who was our third highest rated commit. It does happen.

Elijah Hurt batted .140 his senior year.. so the signs were there about him not being up to our standards

I think Hurt will be back after a stint somewhere else. He’s super talented and has athleticism you can’t teach. But with a project like that he needs playing time and the staff felt he’d develop better somewhere else and come back when there’s less outfield competition.
