Playoffs and Bowl games in jeopardy

Yeah the lockdowns really worked in Europe as you can see today, I'm sure it's a great idea to implement them here...

Would be surprised if bowl games weren't played. But, if fan attendance is limited could some of these games drop their usual tie-ins and try to schedule regional opponents? Why have an ACC team travel to Dallas, El Paso or San Diego?
 
Bigger, more immediate issue could be Ga Tech game next week. They already used 12/12 for this week’s cancellation. If they can’t go next week we may lose a game.

No it was on sports center earlier this morning and they said the conferences were discussing possibly.. not having the playoffs plus bowl games fyi...

I wouldn't be shocked if the season gets cancelled tbh. Covid-19 is a **** show right now. 150K americans a day are getting it. I believe they had 2000 deaths yesterday. It's probably 4 times worse then it was when they were deciding to have a season

I don’t think some of y’all understand how advertising works. Ticket sales don’t mean hardly anything in most bowl games. The sponsors and networks get their cash from tv. The games are being watched. They’ll make their money.

Apparently that one does not count according to people. They have too many 4 and 5 stars for us to compete against them. NC State, Virginia even with backup QBs can compete with us even though we got 50 more 4 and 5 stars because they we are their superbowl according mouth breathing CISers.

There is nothing else going on besides the NFL. These commercials are paying in millions. Bowl sponsors are at no shortage. Ticket revenue is a small % of what makes the money in a bowl and playoff game.

Plus teams draw a pretty penny of the split. They’re gonna do what they can to get a bowl game especially with all of the budget cuts and lack of ticket revenue in the regular season.

Bowl games happen for the tv ad revenue, not for the ticket sales. This bowl season may be the most watched ever depending on whether or not people are staying home (watching tv)
