Playoff scenario

Im not sure i see a diff between a 2 lose OSU team and a 2 lose USC team, yet OSU is getting all the talk about getting in? Like they can't be the ones to keep sneaking in this thing. Yeah they won in '14, but they got hammered last year. Ohio St just needs to be put on the back burner for a year.

My biggest question is if Alabama loses a close one to Auburn in the Iron Bowl and then Georgia has a convincing win in the SEC Title Game

Does 1 loss Georgia jump back up into play? Bama seems like they're locked in no matter what.

Yes, that's the SEC dream scenario. Bama and Georgia are both in with that one.

Auburn will beat Bama in the Iron Bowl.

The Football Gods have spoken. Auburn MUST beat Bama to get in, so they will.

Taint needs us and Wisky to lose. I think we run the table to the Playoffs by beating Pitt and Clemson. Taint’s brown bag money isn’t helping it this year, unless we fvck up.

If Auburn beats Bama, Bama is still in, and we are the first one loss team 2 loss Auburn would jump. Not really keen on anything happening that potentially will hurt us.

I think that's absurd.

The Conference Champions should be in - with 1 of the Power 5 champions currently on the outside looking in based on record / strength of schedule.

If Bama lose the Championship game they should be out. It's not rocket science.

Yep

If Auburn beats Bama then Miami must win out. Because I don’t see a scenario where there are two ACC schools and two SEC schools in the playoffs.

If Clemson beats Miami they are in because they are the defending champs and deserve the right to defend their title

Oklahoma are the media darlings this season so if they win they are in

If UGA wins the rematch over Auburn in the SEC. The SEC bias is going to be Huge

I am pretty sure they would put Auburn in so it would be one spot left

A one loss Bama vs a one loss Miami, I just don’t see anyone having our back. That would leave

1.Clemson
2. Oklahoma
3. Auburn
4. Bama or Miami - just don’t see us ahead of Bama
“Deserve ain’t got nothing to do with it!” - Snoop (The Wire)

You should have to earn it. Period. I’m all for the 4 best teams, but when I see the politicking I’m for the 4 best records.

1. Miami wins out.*
2. Alabama wins out.
3. Wisconsin wins out.
4. Oklahoma wins out.

As long as there are 1-loss teams in the power 5 at the end of a season, no 2-loss team should ever get in - even if they win the conference. Bye OSU and Auburn. Don’t care who you beat, at some point it has to matter who you lost to. And when you get blown out twice it should be disqualifying.

*rule #1 : never put it in “their” hands to decide your fate.

There only scenario that Alabama is left out is if Georgia beats them for the SEC title and Wisconsin and Oklahoma win out. Ohio State is going to smash Wisconsin and I wouldn't be surprised if TCU beats OU in the rematch.

Perfect scenario would be Michigan beating Ohio state and then Ohio state beating Wisky.

This would ensure we get in no matter what happens vs Clemson.

Actually it wouldn’t.

They would use Ohio State’s late surge to replace us with them. Let’s also assume that Auburn beats Bama and both SEC schools get in and Clemson gets in because they’re NC holders, ACC champs, and they beat us.

There is zero chance a THREE loss OSU team makes it in over us.

I'm still not too sure, what's Bama's best win then? Mississippi State? No division or conference title.

Don't think they'd go in over a 1 loss Miami with a division title and wins over ND and VT.

Well yeah that's because you're living in a bubble of rationality. I agree we would deserve it more, but their love affair for Bama is unnatural.
Bama would have to get crushed and we'd have to lose on a fluke play or injury. And even then I'm not so sure.

I think if Bama loses the Iron Bowl AND Georgia loses the SEC Title Game the debate would be about Auburn, unless Oklahoma and Wisconsin both lose.

Then you've got chaos.

Whoever wins the SEC is going in no matter what, 2 loss Auburn or 1 loss Bama/Georgia are in.

Honestly I got Wisconsin beating Ohio State if the two played today. Kinda like the MSU vs OSU big ten title in 2013. Everybody predicted OSU
