I don't think it's that clear-cut if Alabama loses to Auburn in a close game I could see them still taking Alabama over Miami ACC Championship

Yeah, but how does Auburn get in over us is the question. Auburn lost to Clemson, we would have beaten them. We'd have 2 top 10 wins (assuming ND and Clemson both win today) and a conference championship. They'd rank us over Auburn, and Auburn over Alabama.
