Playing Duke at 8pm

No one knows what our roster situation will be on Saturday. Or what Duke’s will be.

There are at least two more rounds of tests for each team.

I think our team is more motivated and much more likely to adhere to safety protocols so while it’s no guarantee, at least we know that there is a strong emphasis and quite likely better adherence to safety measures.

My concern is that there is anecdotal info out there that at least some players at Duke have completely mentally checked out. This may not be true, but those rumors are out there. If this is even partially true, then there could be a number of Duke players being careless and end up being out.

In any event, I will breathe a sigh of relief when I don’t hear anything by late Friday, because in most instances, most teams/conferences (exception FSU) have their shlt together enough to know if they can play the next day.
The point about not knowing if we’re playing until late Friday can’t be understated. Anything can happen between now and then and all we can do is hope for the best.

This game will tell us a lot about the direction the team is going. Here's hoping we put them away early.

Why is that? We are favored by -16. Should be an easy win. UNC will tell us more.

My question is why would Miami not continue to practice together to stay on edge? Even if manny had the covid.

My understanding is there are some some pretty stringent league protocols in place about shutting organized practices down when they reach certain pre-agreed upon criteria.

Players can condition and work out on their own or in small groups, I believe, but that’s it.

Because when you are favored to win by 16 it means you should not struggle to win. If we win big, it means we did what we were supposed to do. We need to start looking like a team that does what heavily favored teams should do. Win big.

The reason we are an afterthought in the ACC for the title game is not just because Clemson beat us badly, but also because other than FSU, we can't pull away from teams. That leads people to say, "Miami isn't as good as their record". So far, they are right. If we want to have any shot of ever getting to where we want to be, we need to be good enough to stomp struggling teams like Duke.

And I do agree. UNC is a bigger test. It is a different kind of test, though.

the odds makers have no idea who we aren't taking up there. on top of that our practices are going to be limited based on players not being available etc. in my view the line is to balance the public bets so they don't get killed on one side. i will be happy with a win of any margin.

Valid points but we aren’t there just yet. Just win. This team is a lot closer to 2017 than 2003.

I think this team is closer to 2019 than 2017. The only real differences I see are QB and kicker, and those are one year rentals.

I have real concerns going into 2021.

Don’t insult Brock like that.
Heard @brock was attacked by a trash panda on Thanksgiving at a small gathering. Facial reconstruction and Rona-protocol underway. I put out a DM to DBC for support group contact. Thots n prayers for ya Brock. Heal up bruh.

Ever been to Durham? It's a garbage-*** town. I stayed in an AirBnB in Durham once. The best part of my visit there was the inside of that AirBnB. Students come here to get a law degree and then leave--never to return.

Agreed. Next year may be brutal. Plus, Diaz May get a ******* extension for winning 10 garbage games.

It was the ketchup on the steak that got the attention of said trash panda.

On the bright side, they've had two weeks to prepare for that long walk. No excuses.
You realize that doesn't help, right? Long walks after a bye are the worst. Long walks after a double bye? Well, let's just say we'll be lucky if the team actually makes it into the stadium.
