Players Who Need to Go

Only nine players are guaranteed to not be on the roster next year as their eligibility will expire:

  • TE: Will Mallory
  • OL: DJ Scaife, Justice Oluwaseun
  • DE: Antonio Moultrie, Mitchell Agude
  • DT: Jacob Lichtenstein
  • LB: Waynmon Steed
  • CB: DJ Ivey
  • ST: Lou Hedley
Everyone else has at least one year of eligibility

Just like Coker recruited two blue chip wide receivers in four years (and two more non blue chip players - George Robinson & Khalil Jones), in the years that Manny was defensive coordinator or head coach (excluding the 2016 class):

2017 - 2021:
  • Linebacker: 2 blue chip recruits (Avery Huff and Chase Smith) out of 12 overall signings
  • Cornerback: 9 blue chip players. However this was backloaded, and in 2020 and 2021 where he only signed 3 players (2 blue chips). As a result this season we have seven corners. Three are true freshmen, and one is a transfer
  • Defensive Tackle: 3 blue chip players (Silvera, Blissett, Taylor) out of 10 overall signings

Bringing Richt into this on offense:

2017 - 2021:
  • Offensive Line: 8 blue chip recruits (Donaldson, Hebert, Scaife, Reed, Rivers, Seymore, McLaughlin, Walker) out of 24 overall signings

Overall, our blue chip ratio has been going up. But we're overindexed at certain positions (running back, tight end, safety) and not enough in others (above).

Exactly. The roster needs to be purged and many players have quit, but IT. SHOULD. NOT. BE. THIS. BAD.

UM has been BLOWN OUT by Middle Tennessee State at home. MTSU has double digit losses to James Madison, UTSA, UAB, Western Kentucky and (oh the irony) Louisiana Tech. Castrated at home by Duke....in football. And a 40+ point loss to an FSU team that is a shell of the Seminole teams that dominated UM during the Al Golden era. For all of the vitriol surrounding the program when Golden was the coach, his team's were more competitive.

To your point, look at the rest of the big-time hires around College Football. Dan Lanning has Oregon humming in a way Cristobal never did. Brian Kelly just knocked off Alabama, and his team has shown improvement and buy-in throughout the year. Marcus Freeman starts his tenure at ND 0-3, but is able to move his program forward in a positive direction and beat Clemson.

Cristobal is the only coach to have seen his program move backwards. And not just marginally, but in incredibly drastic fashion. There are several very significant issues surrounding this program and it isn't going to be a quick or easy fix.

A lot of these bums have lost to FSU twice, Middle Tennessee State, Duke twice, La Tech, Ga Tech, and FIU. Bunch of soft losers on this team.

You’re entitled to your opinion, but you don’t know what each individual player that you’ve got on this list has invested or not.. you may think you know watching the games, But there’s so many factors inside their circle that you don’t know about.. Classless to even put all that **** on that many different players. So the grown *** men that make millions get the pass for not being able to have these young men compete better against comparable talent or if not better.. I hope your kids a ******* bad ***, That needs no coaching direction specially in a complicated schematic game such as football. Making a list of kids you think should be kicked off the team you should be kicked off the fan team buster!!

Get ****ed chief. I hope you say this same bull**** to all those who complain about our players. Did I say the coaches get a pass? No I didn’t. They are just as responsible as the players.

You go keyboard bad ***!! I’m not talking **** buddy I’m just stating facts bro!! Talk all the **** you want to me brother I’m not the one calling out 25 players whom you do not even know. Sad thing is you were probably hanging from their nuts at a high school and thought they were going to be a bad *** at Miami but now they ******* suck.. get the **** out of here man..

Actually no I wasn’t hanging from their nuts in high school so nice try. I know them pretty well from a football standpoint and they all suck. A bunch of lazy, soft, entitled players who don’t belong here. Miami doesn’t need that **** so **** right off.

You don’t get it bro!! Lifes about percentages!! Theres no way all those players can suck that bad where we can’t beat the teams with lesser talent and be competitive against the other teams With slightly better talent. Hence our schedule this year good X and Os coaches who’s jobs are to win football games would have us with probably two losses right now with the same squad!! Otherwise why not just forfeit the rest of the season!! If me and my whole coaching staff had lost all the players on my team!! I don’t know which I would do first, quit or forfeit the rest of the season.. I don’t know what the **** they’re doing at practice, but it’s impossible for me to think that there’s this many ******* knucklehead players that all of a sudden couldn’t be any worse… The percentages don’t add up!! I’m not saying we have this awesome roster.. but it’s a 15 to 20 ranked roster!! Nobody has done worse than Cristobal with the roster they have either built or been given by a previous coach.. not even Jimbo!! But he plays in the SEC he’s got a good excuse

Nope. The Miami Hurricanes had to regress first before improving. There was no way Mario should be expected to change the "culture" in one season. These other teams with first year coaches like USC, Oregon, Duke, TCU are just getting lucky and inherited loaded rosters.

Ok, obviously, I am being sarcastic. Although Mario didn't inherit a "loaded" roster, he did inherit some key pieces to have a successful season. He also supposedly got an "elite" coaching staff. I have seen no improvement anywhere. I mean, I guess the penalties and tackling improved a little for the first half of the season, but now we are back to ****** tackling and a ton of penalties. This is unacceptable for the new $80 mil coaching staff.

Half this roster will be gone and it’s going to be names that people vouched for on this board. Mario doesn’t want them here.

That article about Mario not believing in the players is true. It was leaked and they know who leaked it.

Be careful. It's very difficult to evaluate players when they are playing in a bad scheme with bad coaching. I would give pretty much everyone on the offensive side of the ball a pass for this year. Some of these guys could leave and magicallly look good somewhere else.
