Players wanted Diaz

B/c it’s fcking animal house!

First off, these mofos haven’t earned the right to demand anything. Go win a fcking bowl game and not get it chit pushed in by pu$$y programs, then demand.

They watched the U part 2 a little too much. Those guys were this close to winning the national title and wanted the same routine/regimen that was instilled. It had immediate gratification, but soon it became animal house and it has not stopped being animal house.

FML, y do I even care so much? They don’t.

I'm done, but most of all, our beloved program is done. There is no way we can/will survive 5 bad coaching hires. I didn't think we could survive 3 bad hires and I was correct. I wanted Richt to be the right guy, but didn't think he was the right one. Wow . . . we let the players, and being well liked in the community be factors into who was hired.

Great lets do what the players want. They won't be loyal to those that recruited them, they will only go with what is uncomfortable and difficult.😂

Remember, Dorsey and the boys went and advocated for Coker after Butch because they knew he wouldn't get in the way for their last few years, not because he was the best thing for the future of the program after they were gone.

Players understandably have a tough time being objective. Manny has all the traits that make a good head coach...just no experience...he better learn pretty quick now, and it better begin with pleading with James and the BOT to get out the wallets for assistants.

UM
While I generally agree that players should not pick the coach, I disagree that the players did the wrong thing when Butch left (even though I agree 100% that Coker was not a great long term solution). The players were exceptional on that team. They knew they would win 2-3 MNC if none of the schemes or coaches changed (as they felt they basically coached themselves anyway). They did win in 2001 with Coker as HC. They also won again the next year against OSU as the Pass Interference call against Glenn Sharpe was completely incorrect. Gamble (OSU's WR actually touched the ball first -- which negated any chance of PI being called & that was the call). There are detailed Youtube videos about every aspect of the play and the rules. So that's really two MNCs in a row. While Coker clearly wasn't the right long-term choice, our players knew that a different coach with different systems might have prevented those two outstanding seasons from happening (as there's always a learning curve when change occurs). That learning curve & the additional thought required may have caused the players to play a step slower, miss assignments etc. The players may also have been less happy under a different coach and not produced at the same level. I'd take two MNCs in a row any day even if it does lead to a couple sub-par years afterwards. Coker could have been replaced with a better hire.

The players run the team now?
yup it's almost 2019 bro'
few Vince Lombardi types any more to make the knuckleheads shape up... starts with recruiting promises and other "stroking"
wonder if Diaz can get someone into tough-love for the offense
our "talent" might go a long way with prep, study, hard work, and conditioning added to the "coach enthusiasm"
