Players should not be completely absolved

Obviously, the problems begin and end with Golden and this staff but there's plenty of stuff in between. Mainly, these players don't appear to have much self-motivation. Why spend 8 months busting your *** lifting and training to just go through the motions on Saturdays? It's ultimately Godlen's job to get them fired up but do these kids have any pride? What the **** are they even out there for?

"There was very little life in the team... I saw very little fire within the team. I'm talking amongst the players. Not a lot of high fives. Very little show of emotion. But once the team made mistakes, the heads dropped, the disappointment was visible. There was a drive in the third quarter when a holding call and missed field goal really hurt us. Coming off the field, there was no leader talking to the team. There was no "let's go team" chants...

1) Sign with Miami
2) Workout
3) No pressure to win
4) Wait for Pro Day
5) Get Drafted
6) Profit

I'm not going to allow this to turn into a player blaming situation.

I'm not going to sit here and let some moron tell me that a bunch of 18-22 year old KIDS need to overcome the oppressive incompetence of their coach.

If you watch sports long enough, you know that ALL poorly performing teams look lifeless. Stop trying to deflect the blame from that fat fvuck.

It is no surprise that when a corch creates a culture of timidity, conformity, and discourages leadership, this is what you get. It is NOT on the players! They were chosen specifically because are not "freelancers", but followers. Fraulden, and his staph, are so insecure in their abilities, that they only want beta yes men around. Hence their relationship to the players, and the fans.

Conformist players are NOT leaders, they are sheep.

I'm very understanding that the culture being fostered by Golden is the root of the problem. But on a personal level, these kids needs to either stage a mutiny or quit playing football because they're wasting their time otherwise.

Its year 5. Its all on All Golden. He's had five years to make an impact on the football field and he's failed to do so. He's refused to make coaching changes, he's refused to make scheme changes, and he's done it with more talent than the other team 95% of the time. Its easy to blame players but its obvious they aren't motivated by golden and its obvious they are not being put in a position to succeed nor are they learning from mistakes they have been making since he got here. Its been obvious for a while now.

These kids aren't robots, even though they're being programmed that way. If you can't be excited to play for 12 out of 365 days in a year then what are you doing with your life?

Even if it's the players ****ed up all you can ask is who recruited them

Rok,
Luther Robinson and a few others prove your theory wrong. With the current head coach, its his way or the highway without regard to performance.

I get that freelancing and not toeing the line gets you nowhere here, but at what point do you accept reality?

There are plenty of disgruntled football players out there who don't particularly like or agree with their coaches. Playing with a modicum of emotion is too much to ask?

5 years of this now.

Yes, at what point does Fraulden The Incompetent accept reality and LEAVE TOWN?

5 years ago I'd agree, 4 years ago a i'd agree. Even 3 years ago I'd agree. But these are al-g guys. These guys pass his strenght test. These guys are playing his scheme in his playbook using the techniques he taught them. It's on him. Did McCord ask to be made into a slow lumbering OLB? When scouts and anoucers say "Miami looks slow" yet 50% of our roster is from South Florida then you know it's the coach making these guys that way.

Don't rise to the occasion.

Go through the motions.

They're doing what they're taught.

Direct reflection of leadership.

Yes. Yes.

However, there has to be one or two guys inside that locker room who see what's going on unless Golden is more persuasive than Jim Jones.

There's no way that these kids aren't talking among themselves.

I'm talking about this right here:

Yeah so their futures can be sabotaged by El Foldo. Great idea. Get lost

Rok,
Frankly, I see it in the corporate world all the time. There's an old adage that says, "It's better to fail traditionally than to succeed untraditionally." Golden is the living embodiment of this mindset. He is coaching his team in a manner that will help him with job interviews next spring, not in a manner that will help the Canes win games. To suggest that the players should do otherwise is without merit in my opinion. People act in their own best interests. Cannot hate on a kid for towing the line when the marketplace is telling him that he will see a change in management after this season.
