I think he probably just did it to congratulate the kids on the team and y'all took it to the extreme. I'm quite sure that Is what happened.

Would the BS please stop. Shannon wasn't even on the staff, Pagano was DC in the Sugar. Coker hired Shannom from Dolphins as his DC later.

Shannon was hired from the Dolphins staff where he was LB coach in 2000. He became UM's DC in 2001 under Coker. I think Randy might have coached for Butch for a while as a LB and DL coach in around '96 and '97. Randy started as a G.A. under Erickson in '91 and I think stayed at UM until '97 and left for the Dolphins in '98. I don't even remember the Sugar Bowl. I remember a number of Sugar Bowls, attended a couple when Erickson was the coach. They're all starting to run together in my mind.
 
How can you tell that these are new follows? I see a lot of Canes fans following Randy, but they might have been following since his days at UM. Twitter existed in 2010.

schools.

He might have been following since the days he tried to recruit some of these kids while still at UM, or elsewhere. Coaches often follow recruits, don't they? Do they have to unfollow if the kid goes to another school?

Didn't Randy assist or coach in some capacity with the Cowboys when Butch was defensive coordinator? I know he played under him.
 
Wow this is pathetic. Randy Shannon still bleeds orange and green. Time heals all wounds. We have a player Who's mother just passed away. Our team has rallied around Artie and we just won a game where the College Football world has its pitch forks out. It's obvious since Golden was fired Randy has reached out to a few players. After all he's still "family"

Only some of these idiots here don't get that. I'm convinced most of them are 12-16 years old. And I give them a pass
 
Grandpa can't work the Twitterz. I'd take Randy back in some from, not as HC though. Randy will always be a Cane. Kehoe sued the U and if they took him back I'm sure they'd let Randy come back, it's just business. But this is definitely just a case of grandpa with a smartphone I think, right???:topsy_turvy:
