The reporters would make these interviews a lot more interesting if they would ask specific questions so we could understand why the player made a specific decision. Just asking them general questions about practice and mindset resutls in the same answers which give us no insight as to what is actually the problem.
As an example, ask TVD what route Mallory was running on the first pass, whether it was an option route and what were his other options on that play. Make people think with their answers.
At least that is how you ask questions in court.
