PJ Fleck

Doubt anyone would've been happy if a guy with a 12-13 record the past two seasons was hired instead of many last January.

Scott Frost was the flavor of the month once also. Is easy to draw conclusions afterwards.

His offense is basic af.....I have to see this in year two to believe. This one year hot coach thing is super risky it's why guys like Taggert get jobs
Bruh he took Western Michigan to a NY6 before Minnesota. Not sure about his recruiting but he can definitely coach what he has

He’s now 1B for me. I’d still prefer Matt Campbell just off body of work at a harder job.

Is that a compliment?

Pete Carroll won two national titles, seven conference championships, a Super Bowl, and produced a few Heisman winners, and league MVP, and numerous Pro Football Hall of Famers.

You tell me, but...in my alway correct opinion...he's one of the best coaches of his generation.

PJ Fleck is a better coach than Matt Campbell.

I don't think its particularly close, either. Fleck is much more accomplished.
That’s funny guy. Call me when NFL GMs are requesting to interview Fleck.

How do you measure that? Their track records are very similar and ISU is a much tougher place to coach than Minnesota. Neither will ever be great, but ISU is the clear runner up to Iowa in a state and region that don't produce a great deal of talent. For whatever it means, Minnesota is THE university in the state of Minnesota.

Also, you have Fleck with an undefeated season in an earlier post. He doesn't have an undefeated season.

As far as I can tell Fleck may or may not be the better coach, but Campbell is clearly the better talent evaluator. ISU has freshman All Americans and is sending some guys to the NFL. Minnesota hasn't done that yet under Fleck.

Fleck won a conference championship and had an undefeated REGULAR season. Campbell hasn't come close.

Fleck sent Top a 5 pick to the NFL from WESTERN MICHIGAN.

I know this website has a hardon for Matt Campbell. He's a good coach. But this is now the second time PJ Fleck has taken a second school to real national relevance in under four years. Matt Campbell wins 8 games a year.

LOL he is coaching at Minnesota not Miami stop with the stupidity

You do know Fleck was 7-5 last year right? People would have been losing their **** had we hired him but I guess it’s easy to complain in hindsight lol

Apples and oranges.

And again, I don't think he'd be a good fit at any of the big 3 for other reasons. But he's a terrific coach.

Not true in terms of "hasn't come close". As I asked in my prior post, how do you quantify this huge difference you say exists? Both coaches were in the same conference at about the same time (the MAC). Fleck tied 1st in 2015 and won first in 2016. Campbell tied first in both 2014 and 2015. Pretty comparable.

Both then went to P5 conferences, though a year apart. Fleck is 21-13 at Minnesota. Campbell is 24-22 at ISU. Neither coach averages 8 wins per year over their careers. Fleck has 51 wins over 7 years, Campbell has 59 over 9. Again, fairly comparable. And, again, ISU is a MUCH tougher job than Minnesota. I've been close to both programs. You can be at least OK at Minnesota. To win at ISU is really hard. It may be the worst P5 football job out there.

I don't particularly care how someone ranks these guys, but to say Fleck is clearly somehow superior is not substantiated.
