Pitt took a true freshman DB named...

Been saying this for weeks. We don’t game plan at all. That’s why are 1st half stats are so much worse than our 2nd half, which are terrible also. Can we please hire a competent OC!!

Yeah. Marky Mark had TWO WEEKS to prepare for tough-minded BC and Cane fan knows what happened with all that game planning and what not. Whereas one could see BC " actually prepared " for Miami. Go figure.

...V’Lique Carter, and just got 140 yards on 7 touches from him. Carter was a 3 star DB, and they found a way to use his speed to beat Duke.

Somehow, we can’t find a way to get 5 star freshman Pope any touches. Pitt handed the ball to Carter on sweeps mostly using a version of the Matt Canada offense that he installed prior to leaving.

The scheme and plays make ALL the difference. There’s no reason that with 2 explosive playmakers like Thomas and Pope and even Harley that we can’t get them touches and open up the rest of the run game by making defenses account for them as they motion through the formation.

Some of our dumb fans talk about players not being “ready” or our OL being terrible. Fact is everyone in a busted system looks terrible. Same reason all this dudes who played in Dorito’s defense looked like garbage then looked like good players 6 months later in a system better suited to their talent.
How long has it been since we had a coach that could actually think outside the box like that? Figuring out ways to beat your opponent based on your players strengths and the opponents weaknesses. What a concept!

well it's obvious he can 'execute', our guys simply dont have that capacity
Remember when you used to make fun of Coker when he was Butch's OC? You said his offense was the Coker T lol. What we are seeing with Richt is worse. Much worse.

People can point to flaws in the players all they want, and yes, we know Rosier is awful, but the UVA game really drove the nail firmly in the coffin for me.

There is literally ZERO excuse...none...ever, on any planet, in any situation, ever, where it's even remotely acceptable to have Jeff Thomas touch the ball one time in a football game. It's absolute madness. He is BY FAR the fastest, most explosive player on the field. And he had 1 catch for 5 yards, and 0 carries. Remember when Urban had Percy Harvin? This game isn't hard. Hey, we've got a guy faster than anyone you've got. OK, let's hand him the ball. Let's run a screen to him. Let's run a reverse. Let's get him into the secondary. Let's get him on a linebacker in space. Let's FAKE IT TO HIM and see if we can get the defense keying on him and get someone else into single coverage.

Nope. Not that Richt didn't do any of that, HE DIDN'T EVEN TRY. It's not like Rosier threw the ball over his head or at his feet 10 times. The kid may as well not even exist.

So sure, the OL isn't great. The QB sucks something fierce. Missing AR hurts. We know all this. But here is the bottom line......you give this EXACT team to an elite OC, someone like Briles...this exact same team, same kids, same personnel, and run them up to Charlottesville or Chestnut Hill, and I would bet any amount of money on the planet we don't walk out of there with 13 and 14 points. Not a chance in ****.

The coaching on the offensive side of the ball is as unimaginative and uncreative as can literally possibly be. And to make matters worse, it's not only unimaginative, but it's incredibly predictable as well.

The fact that Mork doesn't use motion in the offense is appalling. Motion not only confuses the defense and can dictate matchups, it helps the Qb know if the defense is playing man or zone presnap which ultimately helps them read coverages faster.

For a guy that spends his time talking about Qbs not being able to master his 4 play offense and not reading coverages correctly you would think that Mork would try to help the Qb with motion. Mork might be one of the worst offensive coaches I've seen.

Richt has said over his career that playcalling is overrated.

BC’s playcalling, especially the first few drives, was so creative. Misdirection, motions, creative formations, bootlegs, screens, mesh routes near goal line. Caused the defense to think for an extra half second which can make a huge difference in slowing down a fast defense.
They had us so off-balance.

Why can't we do that to people?

Made the comment on the gameday board that we were playing sandlot football. The only thing missing was a buttonhook at the fire hydrant.
Don't be surprised if that turns up...with Richt in press conference blaming WR for not reading the fire hydrant.

Richt squinting to see what his Cliff's Notes crib sheet tells him he should call.

that's why this talk of the lack of 'execution' is a strawman argument

The whole design, concept and philosophy of this system is broken and flawed

I had hopes for rich but it appears the game has passed him by. Time to move on. guy can't recruit a qb and makes excuses for the shifty ones on the roster most oaf which he brought in.
