...V’Lique Carter, and just got 140 yards on 7 touches from him. Carter was a 3 star DB, and they found a way to use his speed to beat Duke.

Somehow, we can’t find a way to get 5 star freshman Pope any touches. Pitt handed the ball to Carter on sweeps mostly using a version of the Matt Canada offense that he installed prior to leaving.

The scheme and plays make ALL the difference. There’s no reason that with 2 explosive playmakers like Thomas and Pope and even Harley that we can’t get them touches and open up the rest of the run game by making defenses account for them as they motion through the formation.

Some of our dumb fans talk about players not being “ready” or our OL being terrible. Fact is everyone in a busted system looks terrible. Same reason all this dudes who played in Dorito’s defense looked like garbage then looked like good players 6 months later in a system better suited to their talent.

Richt's interview this morning was a disgrace even by his standards. He has made a life of dodging questions and making excuses to cover up his inferior offensive play calling and offensive philosophy. Which is he needs a team stacked with 5 stars to win.

The other coaches also game plan specifically for their opponent that week. Richt all but admitted yesterday and this morning that they just run the plays they think will work in practice and in the game.

There's no scheming to go after an opponent's weakest link. No design to get an explosive X-Factor like JT a mismatch (which truthfully, is **** near anybody in front of him).

It's Pop Warner football.

Chise, you simpleton. Richt said we don't need explosive plays!

Other teams have players in scholarship too.

I suggest you all get your expectations in kilter.

I know Leach is a polarizing figure but does anyone really think Washington State has more talent on their OL than we do? Somehow they manage to rack up yards and points week after week.

Yep, I said something similar to this during the game Friday night. Our offense looks like a group of guys playing a pick up game in the parking lot. Keep running the same 5 plays over and over regardless of what the defense is doing. No creativity. Little effort to get the ball to our play makers in space.

we just ran another quick slant where Rosier stared the WR down the whole way

This!!! Recruits are not stupid.. They see the attitude by the offensive staff and can say FYU..

Richt has said over his career that playcalling is overrated.

BC’s playcalling, especially the first few drives, was so creative. Misdirection, motions, creative formations, bootlegs, screens, mesh routes near goal line. Caused the defense to think for an extra half second which can make a huge difference in slowing down a fast defense.

And with a avg to below avg OL, I’m not sure why he keeps jamming a square peg into the round hole with the offensive philosophy and gameplan. Great coaches adapt to the talent of their players, the opposite of what Richt is doing.

I truly believe that Richt has been away from the OC and QB coaching responsibilities for so long that he just can’t teach/coach it anymore

Funny thing about BC is Loeffler, their OC, has been fired a bunch of times and mainly ran predictable, terrible offenses everywhere he’s been. And even he made Rick look like a Pop Warner coach in comparison.

spent yesterday watching various NFL games...

-Chiefs: I'd estimate 65% of their offensive snaps include Tyreek Hill or another player sprinting across the line in pre-snap motion
-Rams: Same as above
-Vikings: Same concept but probably closer to 30-40%
-Saints: Probably 20-30%

It is an embarrassment and an abomination that we don't utilize the same concepts. It has absolutely ZERO to do with age or experience. I've watched enough HS recruiting highlight videos to see some of these concepts utilized. I have never coached football and I GUARANTEE I could install 4 plays (8 if you count reversing the formation) that would involve pre snap jet sweeps/motions. I think we have run 2-3 of these ALL SEASON.

It has NOTHING to do with our offensive players not having the ability to grasp these concepts. It has EVERYTHING to do with poor coaching. Without watching film I would wager that on any given play 2-3 of our defensive players do not properly execute their assignments. But because the foundation of our defense is to play aggressive and violent (unless you play LB, zingggg) more times than not we are able to overcome those missteps.

Our offense is so simple that the ONLY way it can possibly work is with 100% execution. NFL teams dont have 100% execution. The fact that Richt continues to operate this way is an indictment on him as a human being. Period. He should be fired with cause.
