Pitt Game

Kid is a statue. We’re gonna kill him.

This is the first real pocket passer we’ve faced since Davis Warren, and he’s not a total stiff. Lopez, Reynolds, and Daniels are all very elusive and play well on the move. Need 4+ sacks on Saturday. Every game it’s important to get out to a lead but especially this week. If we can get up and make them one dimensional, we should know exactly where this kid’s gonna be and ruin him. Lightfoot, Wilson, Blount, and the nickels….its time.

Anyone tracking attendance? Haven’t seen it posted. Sleepy nooner but hoping for a famu/cmu like attendance

Watched a couple Pitt games, a couple things:

-I think going tempo can be very helpful in this game
-I think Mallory can have a heck of a game. They love to crash down and if he can slip a few tackles there are huge chunk plays to be had
-RPO will be key. Again, they love to crash down so seam plays will be there with Lofton and Toney. Just have to make sure you know whose coming because they love to play passing lanes as well
-Don't have to worry about elusive QB play this week. We should be able to get to him.
-They dink and dunk so there's going to be drives that are time consuming. Another reason why I think tempo on our side will help. They're not going to put up a lot of points so we might as well maximize our opportunities.
-The QB they're gonna play can get rattled and becomes really inaccurate with he's rattled. If Bryce is back at safety he could have a day.

All in all, if Miami plays a clean game they should win by at least 2 scores. If the defense can create havoc it could look like last year's score. But all Miami had to do was play a clean game against FSU and we see how that worked out.

Exclude the QB position at Pitt, is this Pitt team better than last years squad that we faced at the end of the year if you compare the two ?

Very few face value tickets left on Ticketmaster. I expect that the school will flip those onto the secondary market later tonight and declare this a sell out.

What is the over/under set for sacks between Lightfoot and Wilson? 3.5? I'm not sure how their OL is but if this guy is a pocket passer, Miami should get to him often.
