Man it’s tough. We say this but how many plays per game do we have?
Targets/touches per player roughly:
15 Mali
10 Fletcher
10 Mallory
5 Lyle
5 barkate
5 lofton
5 upshaw

And probably 5 throwaways and 2 sacks

Not a ton of meat to go around when you’re deep. And Mali I was conservative probably

I assume this means they are going bracket Toney nearly every play. Tony White would never. They think their pass rush can get home before we beat them deep, and want to force Mensah to dink and dunk to Barkate, Upshaw, and Lofton. Plan goes to **** if we can run the ball on them.

That’s only 62 plays (65 if you add even three more crap plays) and 5 is too many touches/targets for Lofton unless we start using him in the flats and screens more, in which case Lyle’s not getting 5 touches.

A certified deep threat who makes plays when the football is in the air is going to stress a defense and defensive gameplan more than some of the others.

He (or Wingo, or anyone who can stretch from the boundary) should have 3 looks a game minimum for the sole purpose of making the opposing Safeties think twice in their steps and leans.

FWIW, we average about 70 plays per game and I believe should be closer to 72-75.
