CANES ➡️ 6-5

fsu ➡️ 5-6

uf ➡️ 5-6

Also:

UCF ➡️ 7-4

USF ➡️ 2-9

FAU ➡️ 5-6

FIU ➡️ 1-10

No teams in the AP Top 25 or even among others receiving votes.

Two coaches fired. Two more could be about to walk the plank (one **** well better be).

How did this happen in arguably the best football state in America?

Intense competition but it look like Manny is the best of the lot.
Well then let's present him this trophy on his way out the door

No big time recruiters in the state anymore at the big 3..

Why it’s a very important hire for Miami.. UF & FSU for what ever reason just stop caring about recruiting S.Fla like they use too.

Also I’m sure UCF will jump to a big conference here soon.. so don’t want them to start gaining real momentum.

I think the really good South Florida kids especially know that they need to go outside the state to get developed. They aren't getting it in high school (basically coming out "raw"). They definitely are not getting developed at Miami (except for some exceptions of course).

Because it’s no longer the best football state in America no matter how many kids are drafted a year. In fact I can make an argument that we should have more drafted a year. Want proof? Look at Bama, Clemson, UGA, OSU, and LSU. Florida player, and in particular players from SFL, are becoming less and less common because they’re arrogant and lazy. They think they’re better than other people just because they’re from, commit stupid penalties because they have no discipline, and it’s taking longer and longer to develop them because they’re being played out of position and it’s not the “safety to LB” or “WR to CB” type of moves.

At least the ones we recruit - and again, that was a formula from the 90s, lots of great football players around this state, laziness prevents Miami from getting out there and finding them because they're stuck with that recruiting philosophy, we can't even get good CBs anymore. Bama, Ohio State and Clemson don't have that issue.

Yes I agree. They rely on the rating sites too much now. Our coaches in the 90s could flat out recruit and develop as well.

Honestly, I don't give a rip about the other Florida schools.
In fact, I welcome their dalliance with mediocrity.
Different story with my Canes.

So I chose Bama’s roster since they are consistently the best team and Georgia’s since they are the best this year, I didn’t want to go through all of them. Breakdown by state:

BAMA
AL 45
FL 17
TX 15
GA 10
LA 5
CA 5
SC 5
No other state had more than 3

UGA
GA 64
FL 12
TX 6
CA 6
AL 5
SC 4
TN 3
No other state had more than 3

So not sure your argument about FL players holds much water there. Both of those teams have the second most kids from FL out of any state on their team. The thing that surprised me was just how many in-state kids they each have, it then again they don’t have the competition we do in-state. But the argument is completely wrong and the college rosters, as well as the NFL draft, will bear that out.

Now count how many are from down here. 2-4 each. At their height the were sweeping this place clean.
