Good for him. I am somewhat surprised shAq is going to the shrine rather than senior bowl.

Not his most dominant season but have a feeling he will show out. Hope both guys do.

He still can get to the senior bowl if he ball out in this game. It happened with zandarius smith a few years back.

Congrats to Pinck! He won't wow teams physically but his greatest quality which are his instincts can't be taught. He will thrive in the right NFL system.

Pretty much. Invitations to that game are a good indication of our talent level. Good but not close to where it needs to be.

There is no margin for error within the ACC if the recruiting rankings are in the 16-20 range annually. Yes, we should win the division occasionally but never odds-on to do so. That is 3-5 loss territory. Check any set of power ratings and you'll see one team after another in the 16-24 range has 3-5 defeats. It's the reason I always use 8-4 as our baseline, with no thought whatsoever. If we want to be considerably above that while maintaining the same recruiting level then we need to be in a conference like Memphis'. They have the 83 Sagarin power rating that is always associated with that 16-20 range, but they are 11-1 in the AAC.

The problem around here is that administrators, moderators and posters have a brutal assessment of where that #16 recruiting range should place us, both nationally and game to game within the ACC against teams recruiting in let's say the 28-55 range. I've posted the related numbers countless times on Rivals and then here, but nobody wants to accept them in deference to prancing "If we don't win 10 games...blah blah blah" subjectivity.

Anyway, a couple of guys per season stand out enough in the Shrine Game to receive a Senior Bowl promotion.
