Here's one of my biggest gripes about our passing game. We hardly run any rub or pick routes at all. The times we have run em, we usually get a big play from it. With Jeff Thomas and Berrios this should be a staple of our offense.
Here's UNC against us on a 3rd and 5 running a simple pick play.

We ran one against Duke (after a timeout- I think Richt saw it was there) for a TD.

And we ran a wheel/rub route against Syracuse for a big gain. Notice the bottom of your screen. Hartley was wide open as well as Herndon. This is a well designed play. More of it please.

When I re-watch our games and focus solely on our WRs, I notice that for the most part they aren't very precise in their route running. We don't cut hard or put much effort into jab stepping the CBs away. The one exception = Jeff Thomas's TD catch. That's how it's done).
And yall wanna know why Herndon doesn't get the ball much? Go watch how awful he runs routes. It's really bad.
I'd like to see more finesse in our route running, and more creativity in our passing attack. There's nothing wrong with having a simple approach offensively, but you've got to design plays to get your speed guys open in the middle of the field. We don't do a lot of that from what I've seen.
