First and foremost, you can't be a Canes fan and ever be ok with losing to FSU.
If we lose to A&M and/or Clemson, some might still say we are on our way back but not there yet, not against a good Clemson team and A&M, who's been buying elite talent and now has a stud OC. Losing to A&M week 2 won't hurt our ranking bc we'll be low. With that loss, we can still be 5-1 going into Clemson and at least in the discussion of improved. Keeping Clemson close and finishing out the season with 3 wins (FSU, Louisville and BC) keeps the momentum going into early signing day and bowl season.
Losing to FSU hurts recruiting. Losing to FSU, Louisville and UNC hurts our ACC ranking/standing and chances for conference title game and bowl ranking.
