You know what? It had not occurred to me, or I had not realized, that the expansion would only cover the field along the canal. I assumed they would extend the whole thing out 30 yards.

So we'll have one full length indoor field, one full length outdoor field, an abbreviated outdoor field, and that space inside the IPF that gets used by OL/DL during drills.

I appreciate you setting me straight here.

Sure thing.

The strip mall next to the Gables One tower is also getting torn down for more off campus housing.

Yes. I've posted a few times on this, it will be a third-party company development.

33 tears ago for me. But the towers were worse. I was happy to be in Pearson.
Lived on the 2nd floor of Mahoney and moved to the 7th in Pearson. It was supposed to have been a "quiet study" floor. It was hardly ever "quiet" but it was way better than Mahoney. That place was nuts! If I remember correctly, Pearson had been recently converted to a "co-ed" facility. Boys at one end of the hallway and girls at the other. (That was pretty radical for UM in the late 70's. though.)

It was definitely co-ed when I lived there in ‘89.

Well, considering how many student-pedestrian accidents have occurred at that intersection, if they are putting housing there, I do hope they are further improving the walkability of that intersection. It’s been an issue for so many decades.
