Edit # 2: After watching his tape, he should be an off ball linebacker. Have him trim 10 pounds and we have a Tremaine Edmunds. Look at his HS tape, the kid seriously looks like a great off ball linebacker. I'll probably be alone on this, BFI.

Edit # 3: Actually, Brevin and Mallory might be making the jump to the NFL next year. Phillips did get an interception (on a punt) in high school. How about moving the kid to TE?

I'm old enough to remember when I saw Garvin name on a list of "Most impactful players on CFB" I think Bill Conelly(?) wrote it, so I will take this with all the salt of an ocean
 
People advocating for him to move to off ball LB, although I agree he has the measurables to play there, have you seen LBs play on Manny system? It would be a waste of Phillips talent

People over looked it but garvin production hasn’t been good since the mid point of 2018 season.

If Phillips really is this kind of player., our D tackle situation just got a whole lot better and not because Gregg is playing nose tackle. If Phillips and Gregg can provide elite pressure on the outside, or at least the credible threat of pressure, that will take some attention off our defense of tackles. This looks to be our best DT in a while.

My point exactly. We haven't seen Phillips play in more than a year and when he played he was a ok/good, he also contemplated quitting football if I'm not mistaken, so idk what to expect from him. I don't get people expecting a huge impact from him, especially in year one

Because he was/is a elite talent and has elite athleticism at the position

If recent history is on our side Rousseau will be 60lbs overweight and regress heavily this year while playing run support

Playing NT in a 3man rush. It seems a gimmick, used because the Canes lacked a pass rush from their stable of young DTs. I’d like to see GR15 and Phillips or Harvey play at their usual DE spots and the pup DTs start to deliver.
