Love dem cans, but when, seriously, when in the past 4 years has our D shut down or even pretended to control a top flight O?
Me thinks Petrino and his fast paced, high flying offense will make our D look worse than Sumlin did Carolina's. Seriously, Petrino vs. No D?
Tell me why we win with a frosh QB and NoD as D-Cord?
So sick of UM sucking.
Well, I was wrong about NoD. his boys looked surprisingly stout. They came to play.
But, I was right that Kayaa was not going to get it done. The sad part is that it was not his fault.
This staff blows. It is year 4, Al has lost 5 of his last 7, all by double-digits, three of whom were unranked. Al is 1-12 against teams with 8 wins at years end. No, that is not against top 10, or even top 25, but teams barely above 500. Al is 13-12 against the ACC, and we play in the coastal, arguably with softest conference of all majors.
And in game 1 of year 4, his squad looked unprepared. I've seen this game too many times in the past 4 years. UM knew what the UL D would do from the opening whistle and had no answer. And continuing an absolutely ghastly tradition, UM rolled out after the half to post back to back 3 and outs.
Al can recruit like a GOD. But the product is unsatisfactory. UM got beat by a coach installing all new systems with a whole new staff and rookie QB and minus 7 defensive starters and 2 of his top 3 guys on O hurt. Al had Duke, Coley, Dorsett and all his horses up front and went 1-10 on third down.
I like Al. He is hard not to like. But, I'm afraid he is not the one. UM looked unprepared, was thoroughly out-coached again and made a litany of embarrassing mistakes that a good staff would have had corrected by now.
