Pete, What is Your Take?

2015 Michigan is a very good comparison. A new coach to breathe life into a pretty talented roster combined with a schedule that really wasn't that daunting outside of Ohio State, Michigan State and Utah. They lost all three of those but beat a terrible Florida team in their bowl to finish 10-3. Now they're a preseason top 5. Ten wins is a realistic projection for Miami this year considering their schedule.

**** we would have had 9 wins last year if coley didn't call that dumb a** play in the bowl game not to mention two other games we should have won in Fsu and cincinatti. I think this schedule is about the same as last year possibly harder. In our touch stretch we play 3 out of 5 teams that won more than 10 games last year in notre dams, fsu, unc. But I believe we can some of those games. People are also quick to dismiss the fact that out side of the db position Miami had a VERY young team last year

LOL at the mutton heads in here making it seem like 10 wins is some sort of miracle.

UNC won 11 last year coming off a 7 win season.

Michigan won 10 coming off a 5 or 6 win season with a new HC and a retread bum QB.

UF won 10 coming off a 4 win season against a tougher schedule with a new HC and a midget QB who looked like he was flicking boogers off his fingers when he tried to throw the ball.

Richt won 10 last year with a UVA reject and some spaz named Faton Bauta at QB.

Wake the fck up, sissies. 10 wins should be the minimum standard this year.

Always appreciate you keeping the Board real Chise. Golden has poisoned the mind of the fanbase to believe that the Coastal is some difficult division stacked with talent.

We were lucky last year to win 8 games. Neb in OT and the miracle in Dook could have easily been loses. We were one of the best teams in the country last year in the all important turnover margin and I believe that more than anything gave us the 8 wins.

With that said,we are better this year with the potential to win 10.Hope it happens.

Are you serious? You know the common thread in both of those games. We were blowing them out before no d nofrito & Coley turned us into a squad of scary pacifists. Coaching has been 75 % of what's held us back for a decade now.(I'm sortve exaggerating, but only a lil)lol

Weaknesses on the OL and in the defensive backfield make 10 wins doubtful. Still, with a talented and aggressive defensive front and a top QB, the team might surprise on the upside. I predict 8-4 and a quality bowl victory.

You name me any great db core with below average defensive front production and I won't post on this site ever again... That's right you can't... A good to great dline group makes any db group look a lot better than what they are due to constant pressure on the QB and living in the backfield. Our guys the last 2-3 years have played very well in the db backfield when you consider how long they have had to cover players because of no help up front... That's why with an improved defensive front which will undoubtedly because of kuligowski and the personel it won't matter who is back there they are going to ball....

Here's a shot in the dark. I'm gonna go with **** near any of those Dolphins squads before jt that had Sam & Pat surtain. I can think of several redskins & Patriots squads too. But I'm just being a prick. Your point is very valid. If you don't have a front four or 7 that makes plays & pressures the backfield than usually ur DB's look average at best. Our DB's should've been alot better but Paul Williams was just as much of a problem. Those boys were clueless & regressed from high school to us in most cases. Just look how rarely they would ever make plays on the ball. It was like locating the ball was a miracle. So many picks we should've had in the last few years that were simply called pass interference cause the dB would just put their arms up and run into the reciever.

According to Hurricane Sports:
4 senior DBs: Elder, Carter, Jenkins and Colbert. Elder is proven. Jenkins is solid. But Carter? I recall some poor tackling on his part. Can't blame that on a poor DL. And Colbert? Saw action in 12 games, but did not record any stats.
1 junior DB: Josh Johnson. Practice squad last year.
6 sophomores: Jaquan Johnson (promising), Henley (?), Redwine (still unknown quality, but could develop into a quality DB), Mayes (no stats), Jackson (has not produced), and Murphy.
The rest are true or redshirt freshmen. Difficult for even a great DL to compensate for rookie DBs who might or might not be quality players.

Perhaps the 1985 Bears' front line with Buddy Ryan as coach might compensate for this corps of DBs. Hopefully, new coaching and a new philosophy will turn our front line into monsters who make the DBs look good. But until the defensive front proves its mettle, it is only a hope. Let's see if it really happens.

Broke, last year at this time you were supporting Golden like your life depended on it.

Nope I supported the program( the players) I wasn't going to openly root against my team like some of you. I've been wanting golden gone since the collapse of the season after Duke Johnson was injured in 2013 and him going into hiding after the penn state fiasco and I can pull up post proving that..

man you are full of ****

I've often said I rather be lucky than good, if I had to make a choice.

This season - new, improved coaching staff, players leaner and likely stronger with more stamina, players getting some real coaching, and we do have some pretty good players.

For ten wins - which we badly need to properly finish off a strong recruiting season, I ask you.

We going to be good/better, or we going to need more luck?

Wrong person to ask.
