I have to imagine that UM put an expiration on their offer, especially with Mullen on deck as the #2 option
 
Charlottesville is a nice quiet town like Athens. If the money is right, I can see Richt - who sounded like he might not even want to coach next season - taking a job with lower expectations. He can make his money, live a nice slower paced life, go to church, and win 6-8 games and be a hero.

I had this feeling all along. Disrespecting Butch when they had him for the taking. Karma is a bytch!

Bad part is we will all pay for the sins of the BoT, Flake Dames and the new school fans that shatt on Butch.

If they were honest with Butch up front then I don't see how that can be considered disrespectful. I think Butch realizes he isn't our first choice. Good news for him is first choices rarely get hired.
 
I can see Richt picking UVA over Miami because of family but he a little ****ed Georgia didn't believe he could get a program over the top. Miami has the horses and Richt is much more driven than people perceive him to be.

Why would anyone pick Maryland? Same Big10 conference as Ohio State, Michigan, and Michigan State. If Penn State can return to being the good Penn State you starting off with 5th place your ceiling. Low expectations.

The location of the meeting with Richt is actually very important. If it's in Atlanta, that tells you that UM's trying to convince him. If it's in Miami, that tells you Richt's ready to rock.

I mentioned this same thing. Seems like UVA might be a perfect situation for him.
