I think this is a quick overreaction to someone who can recruit but not much else. Too many schools get spooked on one recruiting class and use that as the driver of decisions. He reminds me of a Randy Shannon type hire with an Al Golden ability to sell himself without a real track record. Great recruiter, but not a good gameday head coach. Enough of a track record of limited success to prove that out.

Jimbo Fisher is an elite head coach recruiter and offensive minded coach. Taggart isn’t that. He can recruit and coach but he still is a downgrade compared to fisher.

Available and he's already negatively recruiting against Miami.

Not but I give a darn about Taggert, but some major head coaches are knowledgeable of course but in my experience my old head coach would barely be around the team because his focus was on recruits. The old relic would grasp on what the assistance relayed to him and give you the occasionally speech when the lights came on.Taggert may be different and with his age can still evolve.

Why is ole boy considered a great recruiter? He got some cats to commit to USF when we had Golden and UFAG had some idiot, and he has a good class at Oregon- but thats Oregon.... ever heard of Nike? Just asking for a friend

Only focusing on his record is misleading. The guy took over dumpster fires at South Florida and Western Kentucky and ended up leaving both programs much better off than when he got there. If it wasn't for his quarterback being injured this year, Oregon would have had a much better season. I'm not sure if he is going to work out at a big school, but highlighting his record alone is ignoring how bad each program he took over was.

You are what your record says you are. After 8 seasons, FSU can expect to be 47-50 under Taggert.

LOL he was at lesser schools. He ain't Jimbo but he is still way better than Golden , Coker and Shannon combined. He will win 8-11 games a year at FSU but that is less than Richt will do at UM and less than Mullen will do at UF IMO.

couldn’t win the AAC with florida talent. red flag. he’ll be the cool new toy for 2 years. then reality will kick in.

It will be interesting to see how quickly they turn on him.
The semenholes have some real issues I believe and it's not going to get turned around quickly.

Tons of head coaches have won at lesser schools.

That rings true. I think we have the winning prediction. 2 years, and he'll McElwain.
