Pete on Twitter wants _____

Let me preface this by saying I don't want Kiffin anywhere near Miami, but it's a stretch to say he failed at UT. He took over a dumpster fire from Fulmer. They were 5-7 the year before. He went 7-5, losing a close game to #1 Florida and losing to #1 Alabama on the road on a blocked FG.

Good point. That's the reason I didn't mind it when Kiffin was hired at my alma mater USC. He gave Urban Meyer and Nick Saban fits on the road as huge underdog in both games, and with inept quarterbacking. Tennessee was more physical and run oriented than Alabama or Florida expected, and nearly pulled off the upset both times, especially at Alabama when only a couple of blocked field goals by that Mount Cody blob saved the game for Saban.

It didn't transfer to USC. I expected physical and sound. Instead, it was a monotony of flat footed bubble screens. That's what Kiffin was known for on USC forums. The mockery was relentless. Seemingly every game started out with those plays, which were dependably wiped out. Only in a couple of big games did he hint at the type of football he used in the SEC. Kiffin won one road game at Oregon as 2 touchdown underdog by running the ball and throwing the ball aggressively downfield. Likewise one game at Notre Dame. Otherwise it was disappointing bordering on pathetic.

His personality is erratic so you always had to anticipate bizarre interviews and embarrassing moment like deflated footballs. USC had a famous episode under that topic long before the Patriots.

Kiffin was literally hated by most USC fans, at least the ones most active on message boards, by the time he was dismissed. The euphoria on those forums was no less than here last week. To this day those posters keep track of Kiffin on the Alabama sideline and delight every time something negative shows up, like Saban barking at Kiffin.

There have already been posts on USC boards expressing great hope that Miami signs Kiffin. There is quite a bit more animosity among USC fans toward Miami than the other way around, mostly due to the Paul Dee connection to their sanctions.

Lane's been **** canned at two major college programs for being terrible. Sure, let's give him a shot.

He was not canned at TWO major colleges. He was fired at USC by the same AD that knowingly hired someone with an alcohol problem. He left Tennessee after a year to take the job at SC. Facts only.

There are worse options and there are better options. Kiffin could work at Miami with a good defensive staff. Recruiting, player development and execution on D was pretty poor at USC during his tenure. That is the primary concern (not "too many bubble screens" that led to an award winning season from Marqise Lee who has done nothing since).

Lane Kiffin is hot garbage. Never seen someone land so many lucrative jobs and accomplish so little to nothing!

Keep this below average coach away from UM!!

Mario Cristobal (Alabama OL coach/recruiting coordinator)
Tim Brewster (Florida State TE coach/recruiting coordinator)
Dana Holgorsen (West Virginia head coach)
Mark Stoops (Kentucky head coach)
Charlie Strong (Texas head coach)

This pretty much confirms that Brewster is up to no good with local HS coaches down here. There's no other reason to have his name on a HC list.

Kiffin would be a fine hire. He was doing well at USC, was fired for an alcoholic. He was turning Tenn around. I thought he had brilliant game plans there as a head coach. He understands offence. Maybe some of the BBB crowd thinks Coley is better. Maybe Butch could hire Coker as his O Coord.Kiffin Failed in the NFL with the Raiders, kinda like Butch did with the Browns. Im not even sure what Butch did with UNC? The more the BBB crowd get riled up, the more I think they just want to live in the past and any young smart good hungry coach just gets dismissed.
