Why are we letting the selection committee and parts of the media gaslight us into thinking Miami has to win the rest of our games by some imaginary, “look impressive” standard just to get in? Miami and Notre Dame have the exact same record and Miami beat them head-to-head. That should be the end of the discussion.
It should not matter if we beat our remaining opponents by one point or by fifty. A win is a win, and head-to-head is supposed to matter. We already settled it on the field.
And this is where I’m disagreeing with Pete. I love Pete, he’s one of the best voices on CanesInsight, but saying he’s “not going to campaign” for Miami is wild. I love you bro but disagree with that take. Every Miami media person should be sounding the alarm. If we don’t say anything, the committee gets to rewrite the rules on the fly and pretend head-to-head doesn’t matter. Staying quiet is basically letting them get away with it.
Miami beat Notre Dame. There’s zero justification for pushing a narrative that we have to “look impressive” to earn something we already earned on the field.
