Perspective - Have we made the changes?

We started a different Punter in Spicer to allow Feagles to figure some stuff out. Not sure that Spicer is the answer either but the change was made.

It's almost like Mark Richt is on CIS.

I hate to seem like a rabid homer, but it could also be that Richt's decades of experience had a hand in it as well.

Putting blind trust in a coach is almost never a good idea, but there's a difference between a coach of Richt's caliber and a coach of Golden's (e.g.) caliber when you're talking about the benefit of the doubt.

Changing the QB changed the dynamic of the entire team and for the better.

Run game is better which makes the Passing game better.

That leads to the D playing better.

I will say this though, we’ve now shown we can run the ball against scrubs like UNC and Toledo, can we do that against a d-line with 4/5* players on it.

We will find out this weekend. FSU defense has some players in it. Dont be fooled cause their offense hasn’t gotten anything going this year.

Last season we struggled v bad teams because we couldnt run on anyone, including UNC. That's improvement. I want us to stop teams running it like we did v FIU. I also want adjustments sooner. At times i feel we take too long to adjust to what they are doing that's working
this, a good coach will see what other team is doing and cnange/adapt almost immediately, would like to see Richt not be afraid of change. With all these badass RB's we have would like to see a 2 back package, imagine having to defend that with the TE and WR's we have. Also Manny, seems to have reeled it in a bit, thank god, we have the horses to play base 4-3 and get pressure, and let our athletic LB's go to the ball, backend seems fine i guess, thats just not my deal. Hated that Richt waited so long on the QB move, was reading today how he started Matt Stafford as a true, but due to injury of the starter, but fact is Rosier is no better now than last year, which i stated would be the case back in the rosier summer thread about how improved he was. But yea Tex happy

Admittedly I threw a fit when 12 started the SSU game. But it's hard to complain too much now, new QB, better on third down both sides of the ball, and we saw what the alternate punter can do. I do not think we are good enough in all three phases at the same time to beat Clemson in the title game. But this team seems to be getting rolling quicker than the previous two Richt versions. For all the Diaz hemming and hawing this Defense has largely played spectacular. Most exciting is the ball control UM has shown on Offense sustaining productive clock eating drives...Since the LSU gsme, and the last two in particular UM has been extremely effective running the ball utilizing 4 backs with different skill sets. Could be wrong but this looks like a team that is going to throttle Coastal opponents.

Did you watch Clemson this weekend? They aren't what they were last year.

Baxa has been fine. the blocking has to improve. punter is what it is as spicer is as bad, if not worse, than feagles.
This is true. We should have more effective special teams The long snapper and two guards must get it together, teams coming up the middle to block kicks.

Clem brought his C game, Cuse brought their A+game. Always remember, anybody can get beat, remember 01 v BC, Ed Reed, we shoulda lost that game, and we were 10x the team

This is the big drawback of playing an LSU right out of the gate. The coaches are usually going to err on the side of caution and that means playing experienced guys over more talented, albeit less experienced, youngsters. There's no doubt that changes in the rotations (QB included) have made this a better team. The youth movement is for real with lots of young guys getting significant reps, especially at WR and DB. A team like UNC, who was able to keep it very close against this team last year got bullied and buried early. Let's hope to keep the momentum going.

After LSU we knew we had to make 4-5 changes:

1. Perry>>>>Rosier
2. Boulware>>>JJ
3. Carter>>>Knowles
4. Spicer>Feagles

Now our issue is health at LB/S/TE, getting a punter, and getting more PT for our young guys on the OL.

Last one is starting DSJ at LT and kicking ND back to RG.

I do think that if ND gets beat a few times vs. a better DL (FSU, VT, BC, Clemson) we could see him pushed to LG/RG with DSJ getting reps at RT. I like that we are getting DSJ reps at both LT and RT. His future is bright! We at least know who our top 6 are with JJ getting that 7th spot. Gaynor likely would be pushing for that 7th spot on the two remaining games he can play while still redshirting.

Well 3 years ago today we lost to Cincy and golden started his epic decline in the month of October so perspective says we've made a lot of changes
