Perspective from the inside....

I have 2 in college right now and believe me they are kids. They have the bodies of adults but the minds of kids. And my 2 are engineering students so they take college seriously, but they are sill kids.
1. "and believe me....". No thanks.

2. There's no possible way for college students to have the mind of kids. JC, this isn't hard.

Now you are being a **** just to be a ****. You aren’t even making a point, just disagreeing. Make a new substantive point or move on from the topic.
You want me to take your word because you say so, and you think that's a substantive argument? It's not. It's a very bad argument, bro. Secondly, these young men are more than just college students. We are forgetting the responsibilities, the expectations, and the liability that these football players/college students have. The expectations alone is proof of how they are not kids. Case in point: what Pop Warner message board do you belong to that criticizes, investigates, and discusses the players, coaches, and their results? I don't think you're a member of any. These young men are not kids.

Compared to our generation, from a maturity standpoint college aged kids today are most definitely….kids.

Alexander the great was conquering countries at 18

Joan of arc was 17 when she turned a war around

Pascal developed a calculator at 19

Mozart wrote his first symphony at 8

Shelley published Frankenstein at 20

All exceptions to the rule. No comparison to the average kid.

Ok. We disagree but now you are making a substantive point and I can live with that.

“My dad was an alcoholic and my mom did the best she could but there were seven of us and I was the oldest, so I had to take care of my younger siblings. I became a man early, why are these 18-22 year olds considered kids?”

1. As has been stated in this thread already, maturity is adulthood. People reach maturity at different ages. There is no hard and fast rule. The brain is still developing until 25. Hard to make an argument that someone is an adult until that point, although there are always outliers

2. Just because some of you went through some trauma as children, and you were forced to grow up quicker and earlier, does not mean that’s the standard for everyone

3. High school no longer prepares you for anything about the real world. There’s no home economics classes, shop classes, classes to teach you how to budget money etc. Many kids who go off to college are still learning all of these things.

4. Societal pressure caused many kids to ‘settle down’ too early in their lives, when they were still young and learning and it lead to kids that they didn’t want, marriages they didn’t want, and a generation of children raised on divorce and trauma from failed parenting. Time has relieved some of that pressure so kids now don’t have to feel as if they have to settle down and start a family at 18. Because they are still KIDS.

They used to marry off children to start families at 14 because the average life expectancy was so low. Does that mean that they weren’t kids anymore? Cmon now.

I have a hard time telling 20-year-olds that they are kids but not for the reasons and comparisons above. Thats just ridiculous.

CIS has a bunch of 30 - 60 yr old "kids", I read their comments everyday.

Yeah he reeks of “rotten culture to the core.”

Proof once again that premise is a steaming pile of bull****.
Biggest excuse in the game. Why are kids who are part of the “rotten culture” still on the team? Or better yet, why are they playing?

It’s a huge excuse to blame this year’s colossal failure on the old staff.

Back then I drank Natty, Busch Heavy, Beast Ice, PBR, Cobra, Hurricane, 211, Rolling Rock, OE.

As for whiskeys, no way I could afford Johnnie Walker, so I was throwing back Turkey, Kentucky Brother, Cutty Sark.

I dabbled in Everlear.

Pretty much the foulest **** on the planet.
Cobra?

I remember picking 40oz King Cobra a long time ago.
