with Peter Aziz that stood out most with me.

He said he believes that he could compete with Jameis Winston if given the chance. He said it like he thought he was better right now.

Now whether he could or not at the moment the kid sincerely believes he may be better and Winston was a Heisman Trophy winner and #1 overall draft pick.

That is the mindset I want in my QB and it's something we haven't had since Brock Berlin or Ken Dorsey.

I can't wait to see what unfolds in the upcoming weeks and I think this is deserving of its on post.

Sorry, not impressed, do something then talk. I really dislike Winston, but he was a killer at QB for FSU.
Win the job at least.

Winston redshirted so it is reasonable to expect that to occur but Perry will probably not start at the beginning of the season. That's my guess. I think Francois and the kid from Louisville both redshirted.

You guys missed the point of the post. Regardless of whether he's ready or not the kid has the right mindset you want at QB. Talent is one thing but confidence is what separate the great ones from the good ones.

Jackson did not redshirt and he was getting reps as a freshmen from game 1. He eventually became the full time starter later in the year.

I'm impressed bc he's confident enough in his game to say that publicly before even going through his first practice. The fake show me something bs not deep.

Nothing like some off-season quote parsing. Self-laudatory comments was Bill Walsh's 2nd most important factor slightly behind accuracy when he evaluated QBs.

Any news on how he's looking in OTAs? From the Herald interview with Rosier a couple days ago, it sounded like everyone was medically cleared and they would be doing drills starting yesterday. Did I get that right?

I think you are mistaken, Bill Walsh demanded the "Haircut of a Leader" above all else when evaluating QBs.
