Perry better be the starter next year

Dude, seriously?!? Sure rep the shît out of Perry during these weeks of practice, but you don't burn a shirt over a bowl game, especially since the kid hasn't seen any real action. c'mon man, be better...

If Richt is serious about this second chance to win a championship, and he wants to play chess not checkers...Rosey needs to grad transfer in the spring, we need to lock up Williams for 18, and we need to go after Eason on the transfer market from UGA...stack "quality" chips and let them compete for the job.

Not trying to overlook the horrible play tonight, but I take solace in the fact that we are Coastal Champs for the first time, played for a conference ship for the first time, and have top 10 recruiting class coming in next year. Most of all, yes, most of all, we have a coach who’s been there. Imagine if we still had AG/DiNoFries, this team would have been 7-5 and “Trust the process” for an excuse.

I also remember the growing pains before our 1st NC with schnelly, when there were many heartbreaking games, but finally hit the jackpot. In this day and age of instant gratification, it is easy to dis a coach with the calm demeanor of CMR who underneath, is a student of the game, a patient nurturer of our student athletes, is building back our program brick by brick, and bleeds orange and green.

We all need to chill and watch this program improve every year. I feel it will take us to 2019 before we resemble the team that beat us tonight. Sure we’ll be much better next year, but real and stable growth takes time, growth we have postponed through no fault of ours, but **** that just happened with That midget Shapiro and the sanctions. We are now free and on the upward trajectory. So be patient and savor the progress so far.

This. I think it bothers fans that he is calm and quiet on the outside. They mistake that for having no fire - or lacking intensity.

Sometimes, or frequently with us U fans, in the heat of our frustrations, we loose track of how fortunate we are. I mean, we could be in the shoes of any of the teams having coaching problems north of us, including Tennessee. Yet, here we are on the precipice of being successful year in, year out. For me personally, it’s great to be a Cane.

I hear a lot of that, but there is one huge problem I have with the part that is in hold text.

The way we start games or the entire first half is troubling to say the least. The issue boils either of the two.

One, we are woefully unprepared with our game plan. Essentially this "student of the game" and his staff are getting outcoached by the opposing staff.

Or............

His calm demeanor doesn't get the kids engines going.

Whatever the answer is, its concerning and needs to be fixed. There's only so many rainbows and sunshine he can pump up our asses before the good boy (which he is and I admire in him) persona wears thin.

I may be totally wrong, but I think the talent starting with the QB has a lot to do with it. I mean, I don’t remember us having a nice, crisp, long drive down the field on the opening possession too often. I don’t like it that we adjust at halftime - we should be doing it on the sidelines after every failed or successful drive. I don’t get the wait till half time. There may be more to it than meets the eye, I just don’t know. I do feel that this trend changes with a different QB and added talent next year.

Also, even though he is calm, I’ve seen a lot of excitement with Diaz and other offense assistants and personnel when players come back to the sidelines.

So you want Perry's first ever college game to potentially be against Bama? Outstanding. That'll work well.

I would be shocked if Rosier is the starter next year. Richt has seen the ceiling he will go with Perry or incoming freshman.

At this stage, I would give Weldon a chance to practice and burn his RS if needed. Anyway, both Perry and Weldon cannot stay for 4 years if Williams comes in in.
I would send Evan home or move to punter or siomething ..... I am sure he can kick the ball for more than 15 yards... might help with a fake field goal once in a while

With the way our line protects I'm not so sure Nkosi wasn't the answer this year, a qb that can throw on the run coulda gone a long way in helping our protection issues. If it wasn't for an early season test against what was supposed to be a top 5 FSU team I'm not so sure Richt wouldn't have gone with perry

rosier is trash but you really wanted perry out there as skinny as he is with this OL?

I wouldnt be surprised if Rosier just decide to go the graduate transfer route. Im sure Richt will be completely honest about him not having a legitimate chance of starting and he may use this 10 win season to get a starting position elsewhere. Doubt he would be accepting of just sitting on the bench after starting a full season and graduating.

We knew Rosier was limited even when he’s on his “A” game. When he’s not, he’s awful. I’d rather have a Freshman missing wide open guys than an upperclassman.

As opposed to another guaranteed 3rd in a row national TV beatdown fiasco?
I'd take my chances with unknown Perry vs known Rosier at this point. Perry might get killed...or light it up.
Rosier is 100% toast at this point
