Miami extended an offer to JUCO DT Perrion Winfrey earlier this week, but communication between Winfrey and Coach Simpson has been ongoing for a few weeks now. Winfrey had offers from Wyoming and Western Illinois coming out of high school, but he did not qualify academically. All academic concerns have been handled and Winfrey will be enrolled at a new school come January 2020. While communication between Simpson and Winfrey is ongoing, a visit will not happen anytime soon since Winfrey is not allowed to visit schools until after this semester.
