I never thought I'd see the day when a coach was bigger than the Miami program.

It isnt even about the coach. McCarthy's comments without the spin put on it here are nothing but a former player saying something that is pretty innocent. Its brought here and it becomes slurpers vs mopes. The evidence is in the thread title.

I'd like to see McCarthy hand out a pair of Irish sunglasses to iq72.

my comment wasn't about his statements, it is more an observation of everything that has been going on here the last few weeks. What really tipped it over was the guy bashing a former player...a player that put a lot of sweat, work, blood, and personal well being (body) for this program and do his best to help provide entertainment for the fans. All that for some ****** to say "what did he ever do here". It is pretty disgusting. People are taking shots at former players all to protect a coach. A coach that, frankly, hasn't done a **** thing worthy of being given the benefit of doubt.

I understand Colin's sentiment, but is he really expecting to read anything from UM that says "we're not taking them serious - just gonna blow them out and move on to the next one"? Has that ever happened in the history of ever?

Yeah I don't get any of this either. Not even sure who the comment was directed at. Fans or the program and players itself. UM would never say "Yeah this game is a joke and we aren't taking it seriously at all". No program would ever do that. This seems like people grasping at straws to keep beating a dead horse.

Exactly. Nothing in Colin's comment supports or undermines anything that either "side" has been saying.

Got to love when Tork shows more passion for our program than half the fan base.

You guys make me sick.

Enjoy your participation medals!

He doesn't give a ****.

I've probably been to more canes games, taken part in more canes related ****, and have a better understanding of your program than a good portion of this fanbase. A very good friend of mine played QB for you guys. I was in Gables a ton when he played here. I was at games supporting him and even rooting for canes wins (his success) when he played.

Yes I am a gator fan but that is just entertainment. Doesn't mean i can't spot stupidity and lack of logic and general ****ery. A lot of people on this board are engaging in a ton of one or all three of those and the 2nd post in this thread pretty much sums it up.

Folden has a Jim Jones grip on some of these mutants. Greaseball actually tried to dump his disciples by begging Ped State to hire him. Yet they're still killing proud alums to suck up to their Greaseball Koresh.

I agree with that. There was no reason to be attacking McCarthy about his statement. He was an excellent player that worked his *** off for the program. Even if he did say something against Golden, that's no reason to pretend he wasn't a good player or to attack him. However, on the flipside, it's pretty pathetic that some are trying to pretend that his statement in any way supports their views, given that Colin would likely never be cheering for a UM loss as they are.

I'm not cheering for a loss. I'm hoping for a cancer to be removed from my beloved football team.

No, general ****ery is pretending that Colin's statement in any way means he is in agreement with those that believe in cheering for the team to lose and flying banners. Every so called "slurper" on here would also like to reach the point where we don't even have to give Arky State a second thought, which is all McCarthy stated.

You must have missed the dozens of people on this board ready to get down on their knees and take a hot load down the throat from Butch Davis if he agrees to come back and be the head coach.
