Per a number of posters here, it's so highly regarded, Chip is coming to UM.

Especially since USCw doesn't want him.

Get the right guy & we're in the mix for the whole thing next year. Just think with how much of an absolute DISASTER this season has been we STILL have a chance to win 9 ganes. Not saying that's great by our standards but it shows just how talented we are.

Embrace the hate my brother. Helps with they're interests' recruiting. Its everywhere.

again with the facilities? how good do they have to be? are we recruiting savages or kardashians?

They can only go on what they've seen the past 10+ years. Judging by what you've seen, would you personally say we are 100% committed to football excellence when compared with other elite programs? I most certainly cannot say that.

Maybe things will change with this new hire and the amount we spend on him/his staff.

So you want Miami to be considered an elite program in todays football landscape. Can you put into detail what is it that puts Miami on the same line as schools like Bama and Ohio St?

.....This just in...Chip Kelly currently has a job in the NFL...

Just relax.

Anyone even mildly interested in coming to Miami knows all they need to know about the facilities. Butch, Chip, Herman or any other coach we may reach out to is not looking to ESPN for details on Miami’s facilities.

It will all play out soon enough.

There's a difference between expecting people to think Miami is elite and people saying that Miami CAN'T be elite. Anyone remember when we fired Randy and mark may said that 8-5 was the best Miami could expect? It's one thing to point out that we suck, another to say that is the way it will always be.

Mark May has been closer to "right" than the UM dopes constantly raving about how elite the program really is and only fools don't see it.

Kids dont play football to have an awesome gym to workout in or to play in BFE in front of a bunch of screaming fans....

They play it because they want to make something of their lives.

So the question is... show me any schools that you think compare to Miami in that regard.

And I hate answering a question with a question so I will answer it for you.

4 (Miami, Alabama, Florida and LSU)

I call that elite.

I keep forgetting how great of an AD Pat Haden has been for USCw.

I generally agree with you, but facilities are a big deal to kids these days. Yes, some play it to better their lives, but most realize they aren't going pro. Today's youngins are what I call the bling generation. When things are close, facilities can be the deciding factor.

Just today I heard how the new dining area for athletes only, their training table has a section for each of the following. Weight gain, maintaining weight, and losing weight. Their strength and nutrition has one guy for every two players, we're nowhere close to that.

All of that stuff doesn't make champions, or does it? You can do without, but the job is just a bit tougher. Things have changed in then last 10 or so years with the college's essentially having their own arms race.

Then only thing we have on our side is our recruiting area. We're not at an advantage other than that. Hopefully we hire the right guy and put a bunch of money back into the program or we'll just continue to fall further behind. It isn't a popular opinion, but maybe it's time we became a basketball school. It fits our demographic as a school much more than football does.
