People forgetting about Mark Walton.....

All these backs should be excited with Golden's offensive philosophy. It's Big 10 football at its finest. Run, run, and run some more...

In 2 years will be battling with Williams and Scarlett if they stick for starting position. Yearly might be the 3rd down RB if he can develop hands.

golden has put 3 rb's in the nfl since he has been here and also put bernard pierce in at temple. that's one position he has shown he can develop.

Well, he whiffed on elite RBs last year, and there is a better than not chance that Scarlett, Walton et al will flip to Free Shoes or UF.

So next year looks like Yearby for two yards a carry.

Stop with your nonsense. Dex will be enrolling next month. Walton and Beast Mode 2 will be signing with UM first Wednesday of February.

Smokey I get hating on the coaches but stop busting on the players.

Yearby's biggest asset is his vision, and the ability to stick his foot in the ground, on that 1 cut fake. I'd be surprised if he ever busts one for over 60 yards in college.

Walton moves laterally like Portis, but runs straight ahead like McGahee, and has the "football speed" of James Jackson catches the ball out of the backfield like no one we've has here in a minute!!!

Football speed is a tag for a dude is legitimately fast on the field, as he has proven to get from 0-60, as fast as anyone chasing him, and doesn't get caught from behind, but hasn't figured out how to run the 40 yet!

I'd take a guy with football speed all day long!!

Still glad to have both guys... we need em all!

How I'd rank them for next year, and what former Canes RB I think their careers will most resemble:

1. Scarlett - is head and shoulders above the other RB's in my opinion. He's the full package. Edgerrin James.

2. Walton - has a great low center of gravity and looks like he's going to be really powerful for his size. He'll be able to break the tackles that Yearby can't. But he does lack that 2nd gear, and he still looks a little tightly wound, where cutting in the open field look a little awkward and uncomfortable for him. Looks like he won't outrun defenders, but he will bounce off of them. Tyrone Moss.

3. Williams - Something doesn't add up here. His on field production & stats don't match up with what his highlights and athletic testing numbers would suggest. I'll be interested to see what he does in the Spring. I'm guessing he's Mike James, but hoping he's more James Jackson.

4. Yearby - I just don't have high hopes for him. I think 9 months off of a broken ankle should be fine. There was no need to redshirt him. I'm afraid putting on weight may actually hinder him a bit. He'll never be fast, and it might cause him to lose some of his quickness/change of direction that is his strength. I think this year showed what I originally thought - he'll be good but not great. He had 86 carries and only 3 were for over 15 yards, and he had only 1 TD. That's just not very good, and I think he may be unjustly end up being considered a "bust" - but he was just simply overrated in recruiting causing expectations to be too high for him. Graig Cooper.

5. Edwards - Solid but nothing special. I think should be moved to FB full time where I think his versatility would really help the offense. Dyral McMillan.

6. Gray - I think WR will be his best position
