Having lived in PA as long as I had to I obviously have a lot of friends that are psu fans, and by fans I mean straight up fanatics. I warned them about Manny when they hired him yet they remained excited and thought he was going to give them a downhill aggressive defense to challenge the big boys. They got their rude awakening last weekend and none of them will return my texts.......

Remember what it was like here? Everybody thought our defense was elite and it sure looked that way until you played a top offense. Then the poor recruiting slowly put the focus on the 2 or 3 players that were really good on the D line.

This seems to be a fascinating situation in the making. The way James Franklin and the media have hyped Manny up as a DC hire will make it harder for PSU to fire Manny. Typical Manny defense...a one trick pony. Everybody is all smiles when they’re forcing lucky turnovers but when the opponent is physical and pounds the ball up the gut all day he’s helpless to stop it. Apparently Penn St. folks didn’t watch the game where his vaunted D gave up 8000 yards rushing in one game. Legend has it, UNC is still running to this day.
