The U might have an advantage when college athletes are reimbursed.
Certainly of colleges located in small cities;ie Starkville,Ms where
where State U is located.Or Purdue in Indiana,Iowa at Iowa City.
Imagine if you will the Cruise Lines, large auto firms, casinos start
endorsing U players.

there is more competition for attention in big cities so we may have a disadvantage

It could widen the gap for the haves and have nots (like UM) as well.

The top recruits are likely to choose whatever program is televised the most for more publicity. Whatever teams win the least are televised the least and that hurts them. The U isn't on television nationally as much as they used to be due to being down.

It certainly can help though being in a major city vice a smaller city though.

Very few players are going to make serious money and I think this only helps the college towns where football or basketball is king. You don’t see hardly and dolphins players on local endorsements around miami and those guys all have much larger followings for the most part than UM players. Most football players aren’t very endorse-able and this opens up a legal route for the SEC schools to keep doing what they’re already doing but on a larger scale

Which is y I said this pay for play will not benefit us.

#1 our pockets aren’t deep, even if they are deep

#2 out boosters clearly don’t care enough

#3 we are not nearly as marketable anymore (see the hype Adidas initially gave us, and now......also, see the amount of games televised on the ACCN & ESPN 2.

Start winning again, and all this changes.

Have to see the rule first. Likely, it will be no payment from a school or booster. More like arms length negotiation test. Strip clubs would likely work.
