Paul Williams

It's hard to flash as a db in a defense that gets gashed for 300+ continuously; how did fuller do the other night, that's right invisible, why? Because we threw less than 20 passes

He made the highlights. Duke stiff armed the **** outta him.

Williams is atrocious. How many times do our db's turn their head to find the ball? Zero. How often are they beaten instantly off the snap by not putting a hand on the man. They never alter routes. They tackle poorly. They don't understand what the opposing receivers are trying to attack in our scheme, so they don't know how to stop it.

I don't think it's a coincidence that almost all of the DB's on the roster are terrible at playing the ball in the air. They get in position and then look lost when the ball arrives. It would make sense if the majority of these guys hadn't looked capable of playing the ball in high school. Except that they all looked better making plays on the ball in high school. Seems like coaching to me.

The issue is that Golden/D'Onfrio don't run plays where our DB's are in press man to man. Coach D'Onfrio himself said he does not like his DB's to get tangled up. If you don't play press man then you are not going to be good at it.

It takes repetitions to become comfortable playing man

That is the scheme that we run. Coach D'Onfrio stated and was quoted saying he does not like for his DB's to get tangled up. So he is not a fan of press bump and run.

You can't blame the position coach for not wasting time teaching techniques that the Defensive Coordinator will never use.

Seriously? You think it's the scheme's fault when guys are in perfect position on a receiver but are terrible at turning, locating the ball and making a play? Playing press man has nothing to do with playing the ball in the air when you are running shoulder to shoulder with the receiver. I don't care what scheme you play, press man, off man, zone or whatever, playing the ball in the air is DB 101 and falls on the DB coach. You sound like you're ******* related to Williams or something. Thats like blaming the offensive scheme and route combinations for why your WR's drop passes that hit them square in the hands.

The scheme and defensive philosophy suck, but so does Paul Williams' coaching and player evaluations.

your comment is right but we do play press at times and when the team does throw into coverage we have no ball skills whatsoever

Our d backs tackle very poorly. Head down, no wrapping up and driving.

How many interceptions do our d backs have this year? I think gunter has 2 and they weren't "ball-hawk" plays on the ball like howards int against florida last year.

All the rest of were by linebackers or a d end who dropped into coverage and got extremely lucky.

Our d backs let the receiver make the catch then catch up to them running downfield.

I blame the coaches and schemes tho because theyre obviously talented players.
