Why not? If he was such a mortal lock to LSU as the insiders claim, then he would have committed there already. Instead, he's all over the place looking at schools.

The same could have been said by other teams about Blades Jr since he just recently committed and actually decommited at one point. We found out later that he was waiting for Fathers Day , but other teams didn't know that and were still thinking they had a chance. Point is kids have their different reasons for waiting to commit and we already know these kids like to "enjoy" the recruiting process , which is why we see the national signing day announcements. Blades has a little stronger connection to UM than Surtain does to LSU. He might wind up there at the end, but he's giving no signs at all that he's this mortal lock to LSU that the local team shouldn't even bother recruiting him.

He aint coming here regardless if he doesn't go to lsu.

You couldn't be more wrong about my reason for wanting to see UM continue to pursue him. The kid is a great kid and an incredible talent from a great family who happens to live 30-35 minutes from campus, and his father's close friend and predecessor at the Heritage job is the CB coach at UM. I've said it several times on this board that he may go elsewhere, but you have to fight for a kid like this.

I'd rather listen to some kid at ITT Tech in Atlanta than people who actually know Surtain and his family.

There was the same "we have no shot" aura from the fake insiders surrounding Tracy Howard's recruitment too. Same exact **** being talked from dorks in Memphis and Atlanta who have never set foot on UM's campus.

only thing I will say to this is we have a third of our class it seems like running around the country taking visits all over,many to our biggest rival, but they are " just playing the game" and " enjoying the process"...could it be that Surtain is also doing both of these things while holding LSU to a wide margin?

I dont think we are not recruiting him. But why waste energy and resources if we are not feeling any love from him. I think Pete said this same thing about Nigel Bethel. That the staff is getting weary of chasing him as we are not feeling any love back. I am all for trying until the bitter end like we did with Jeudy but I am not for wasting time if the kid has shown us zero interest too.
