I'm guessing many of you don't receive the alumni magazine because you didn't attend UM, so let me help you. Pat Whitely is one of the most beloved administrators in the history of the U. She is honest and fair (I speak from personal experience), and yes she puts the U's students above the U's football team... as it should be.

Hopefully AQM learns from this and comes back. Glad he hasn't lost any eligibility. I'm sure the coaching staff is upset... jobs can hinge on wins and losses. But that doesn't mean anyone in Student Affairs mishandled the situation.

There is no way Miami's tuition is a good deal. If you are going to pay 40 grand a year it better be at MIT or Harvard or similar. Otherwise go to a state school. There is no good.reason college tuition has gone up this high There are alot of college administrators living high on the hog with big salaries as their students' parents sacrifice for their kids to get a degree that gets them very little.
The compensation of the professors and administrators should be disclosed publicly. I think people would be surprised at whats going on. The whole concept of college education should be streamlined .Tenure should be eliminated .
 
We don't have a video. If we had a video it would be nearly impossible to be on AQM's side. That's not exactly difficult handicapping. Without a video all the frantic simplistic types are happy to flail away with their taunts.

Let's see, the first major disciplinary situation after the dual rape ends up being more harsh than we expected. That's absolutely shocking.

AQM wasn't here for the NCAA situation so he apparently didn't get the memo that lying face to face to an administrator might not aid his cause.
 
I wonder if the roommate is suing the U. There is more to this story than is being reported. Supposedly it happened outside Sun Life after the spring game. Maybe they are also being sued & on & on.....

This is all part of the game. They need to justify the doubling of tuition over less than ten years.

So what would you say about other universities who are suspending there players 1-2 games for getting charged with felonies breaking beer bottles over peoples heads or getting in bar fights. But AQM gets into a fight with one person no charges and he gets suspended the whole semester? That makes sense to you? You must be part of the rowing squad. Or maybe the golf team?

The whole point of my "calm down" post was that some folks on this board were saying some pretty ugly things about PW. They woman is fair and she is just doing her job. What makes sense to me is to give her the benefit of the doubt. Believe me, she cheers on our football team just as much as anyone else. But she isn't going to give any kid a free allotment of broken noses before the rules of the school apply simply because he plays football.

We criticize UF and other schools when they look the other way. Let's not be hypocrites.

Don't lump me into your glitter fest pal. I dont criticize ****. I want my school to win at all costs. I don't give a **** if UM is ranked 47th or 80th in academics, big ******* deal. Not once on an interview for grad school or interviews has someone said, "Oh ****, you went to UM they are ranked 47th". Usually the questions involve around how the football team is doing. Your new attitude is killing my school, and I wish you and the rest of the merit badge squad would **** off.

I went to UM because I grew up rooting for them in FOOTBALL. ******* like you have ruined my childhood memories.

This all day. AG let AQM travel with the team, so obviously he didn't have a problem with it. Sick of this ******* ****.

according to reynolds, AQM told police that he told the kid I'm tired of you disrespecting me and then three punches were thrown. also, that this decision was an appeal. original ruling was weeks ago. there were other scenarios discussed in terms of punishment but reynolds is not sure if those were taken.
 
First of all the get the fact straight. The Coral Gable police investigated and found no cause to file charges that in itself should have ended this mess that Student Affairs has created. You don't punish someone after the fact 4 months later; do it then or don't do it and after the police said there were no grounds (that's a fact) just drop it. Instead the other student who may have instigated the fight was given a degree, it makes no sense he should have been thrown out. You cannot take back degrees without major cause and the cause here maybe that he lied to the university administration?

In the meantime Patricia Whitely, Gilberto Arias and other at Student Affairs have dealt the football team and it's recruiting a huge blow.

i was a Singer scholar. you should know what that is if you get the alumni magazine.

I personally don't read the alumni magazine because i'm not some stuck up guy who needs to distinguish himself from other Canes fans.

Whitely screwed up this decision, just like the school screwed up not allowing chick fil a on campus because of one innocuous comment.

if you're a true alumni, you would realize that the school is far from perfect.
