Patke LB Coach/ Aristide OLB

Do you mean with the exception of the multitude of people who are agreeing with me that ST is garbage?

Hedley and Borregales could be coached by ME and be just as successful. And you're clearly ignoring the multiple dropped punts.

So, your comment here is idiotic, at best. Maybe actually try next time?
I don’t know how a coordinator helps specialist but maybe FIU should’ve hired you because Borreagles was a much better kicker at Miami than he was at FIU. He was all world against us but average in his sophomore and junior year when not playing us.

What do you mean on deck? We already run a 4-2-5. Patke will coach the two LBs and Aristade will coach the striker. Patke already coached all three LB positions with Diaz before the striker was added.
Is this a serious question and response, I hope not, LOL!

Our KO coverage has been bad...but when you have Lou and Borregales it's really hard to say ST sucks. Sorry man, all the **** talk has no support.
And what about the previous season when Baxa and walk ons were kicking? What about punting prior to Hedley? We went out and got grown men to fix those issues. Nothing Patke did there. The spots where Patke actually had to coach were garbage in returning, coverage and all the fake attempts we allowed.

Well, yeah, I would have benched Taylor from punt returns, considering he played alongside the best returner to ever do it at any level.

If you're going to use a hypothetical, maybe don't make it that absurdly asinine?

What is hypothetical would be how you would apply your coaching philosophy not that Taylor has never returned punts because he has and was pretty good at it like most everything he did because he was a phenomenal athlete.

Since you are invoking Hester, I suppose, given your stated philosophy, you would have benched him too because he has muffed punts.

So my "hypothetical" are not theories but actuality. Both Taylor and Hester have muffed punts. Maybe it is your coaching philosophy that is asinine?

Berrios was top10 in the FBS in punt return avg in 2016 and in 2017 he averaged 15.9 yards per return which would have put him at #2 in the country except he was two returns short of qualifying for the rankings. So basically, you have zero clue what you're talking about. Thanks.
8 out of 10 punts he called for a fair catch. I'd be curious to see how many punts he fielded. Then you'll know the break down of fair catches.

Multiple people as in your fan club? lol. How about you try again. And support it. Oh yeah. Go ahead and coach ST while your at it, sweetheart.
You gotta give credit where it's due. Borregalles case he was already established as money before he got here and Hedley the second he stepped on campus(which was before patke was coaching special teams)has been doing the same exact thing he does now. The measure of our special teams is in the play of the unit not the play of two players... I'm sorry but overall special teams play is atrocious.

Yeah , I remember all of those Braxton Barrios punt returns. Sez almost nobody ever. Great Cane and a good WR but as a punt returner? Nah man. He will always be remembered as a punt returner that mastered the fair catch. But you do you and you are welcome!!

Go Canes!!!
That was what was so frustrating with Brax though. Kid has great hands. But he had little confidence. St coach(harley I think, buddy at uga)would beat into him securing the ball is what I need out of you. But Brax actually had really good vision and decent wheels. When he would get on his wave he'd get some decent returns. Can't take that from him. But there was so many yards he left out there cause he'd question himself and just call fair catch vast majority of the time.

After taking a day to think about this, many including myself were critical of the lack
of recruiters in the defensive side of the ball. Well, Manny hired another guy known as a legit recruiter. I was critical of then role and what role Patke will have. But i’m sure Manny and either née hires who are good recruiters will be on linebackers. Hope it works.
Hold up... You were critical of the lack of recruiters on the defensive side of the ball like we had coaches who couldn't recruit but could develop and call a game? Please tell me I misunderstood what u were saying...

All around the board I agree. So why was he suckered was my question.
He wasn’t. Manny was given a wet Willy by Gus in a full Nelson. Spent a whole thread getting thrashed about that take but it’s real. Gus is proven and just because he is employed by the space school doesn’t change the fact that Manny has a way to go with “playing the game”.

In 2016, Berrios returned 1 in every 4 of our opponents' punts for an average of 1.46 per game. That season, the top 10 leading punt returners in the country (excluding Berrios) averaged 1.6 punt returns per game. In 2017 he returned 13 punts (1 per game), which was conspicuously low when compared to the 1.8 per game avarage of the top 10 returners that season. However, he did average 15.9 yards per return. In 2019 he finished 2nd in the NFL in punt returns. Nobody is saying Braxton belongs in the UM sports HoF along side Kevin Williams, Santana Moss and Devin Hester...but to pretend that he wasn't an excellent returner is nonsense. I guess I shouldn't be surprised though, given that posters like you have no qualms about diminishing the effort and accomplishments of members of the program to advance your own egotistical sense of self importance. Go on ahead and trash Berrios some more to make your point. As long as you win the argument I guess it's all good.

Not Impressed with the coaching situation at LBer and Striker. Doesn’t improve Development issues or recruiting. Patke gets too much credit for special teams and Strikers. The striker position wasn’t that impactful at all this year especially when Frierson was not on the field. And special teams is weak outside of Hedley and Borregales.
So who gets credit for the development of Romeo Finley (who most fans pegged as the most consistant player on D during his 2 years at Striker) and Gil Frierson (who most fans would say was the most improved player on D last year)...

So he’s coached two 4 star guys to average results, and he’s built a CIS rep as a football scientist?

Same rap I heard with Rump from CIS. He was supposedly buried in the lab with his Bunsen burners and white smock coaching up 4 stars to average results. That’s why Rump couldn’t recruit.

Must be the same with Patsy. When a guy can’t recruit, he’s automatically Dr. Football according to CiS.
Meh..I have said this numerous times..Finley was the most consistant player on D when he was at Striker those 2 years and this was a kid who was buried on the depth chart and had no place on the D prior to.

And Frierson was about a second away from transferring according to some sources and now he is probably a top 2 returning starter on D. (Bolden is probably #1)

You can hate Patke for being a bad recruiter and can even say he is overrated as a ST coach because Lou and Jose were studs before they even got to him but to say he isnt making strides as far as development at the Striker position..? Highly questionable.

A good ST coach could have gotten more out of BB in the return game fo sho. Currently, we seem content with just calling for a fair catch. I find it hard to believe with all of the talent on the team, the coaches can't seem to identify who can return a punt and without fumbling the dam ball on the catch.

Go Canes!!!!

I am content with guys not dropping the ball. Safe and reliable is all I ask for.
