Y'all hated on me during the offseason because I said this defense would be worse than last year. I said we would win 9 games. I was off by a game.

This defense is the worst I've ever seen at Miami. Worse than the Al Golden years. I want Guidry gone and I want 8 or 9 new starters from the portal. Every single player in our secondary is trash and our linebackers are trash. Our DTs are trash.

Mario needs a top 5 high school class and the #1 portal class or we're taking a step back next season without Cam Ward.

I dont see any five stars committed and we chasing gator legacies still so hope we snatch one but yikes..

And I know @DMoney on podcast says that coaches felt like nickle was only miss which means they were very happy with depending on #7 as starter at safety spot.. NO WORDS.....
 
Yeah, tough to win when you can't set an edge, cover, or get a pass rush. The offense thought they'd turn it over to the D with that 21-point cushion and just coast.
 
I don't see how this defense get better next year. Both sides of the ball are going to take a step back IMO. 7 wins in 2025 would be the ceiling.

If you were a big time defensive recruit, would you trust these coaches to put you in position to be successful? If im a 5 star DT, im telling Guidry, **** you. Im not coming to guard WR's. Plenty of highly rated guys on this defense to be this trash. If im a recruit, i would want answers to why nobody is being developed or put in position to make plays.

It is the offseason and we blew a top QB we knew we had for one year rental and offensive talent by not going all in on defense.. Going all in on DB a year later means nothing..

Yeah I mean what's the counter to his argument. Don't address the secondary and just get a QB again(which we did in Carson). Lol Should we have had better judgement last year? Obviously. **** yes. But we at least went out and got a qb (i wanted Mateer and believe it would have been better for us. Carson is gonna have a strong year. Honestly can't believe we got him. It's as close to the best possible thing we could have done) and we replaced the defensive coaches and beefed up the secondary. I think the defense is gonna be good. But again just saying why are you doing it now when you should've done it last year is the height of stupidity/porsting

My worry is not having an elite WR that scares defenses and changes coverage schemes letting Lyle/Fletcher eat especially in the check down game. I'm praying Carr and Trader prove me wrong

Certain people on this staff will still tell you we had enough on defense last year despite the results. Dead ***.
