path to acc ship

Ahh, the annual mid-October “path to the ACCCG” thread.

Honestly, why do we want to play in that game? I’d argue we are better off winning out and going to the CFP as a 1-loss at-large.
I said that before FSU and got killed.

I’m not so sure we wouldn’t be better off now NOT making the ACC title game, going 11-1 and making the playoff as an at-large. Let’s say hypothetically we make the ACC Championship and lose. At that point it’s very likely we’d miss the playoff entirely. Granted, we would have been better off going undefeated and getting a first round bye, but now with us having a loss already I’m not sure what’s the better option anymore.
We arent getting in as an At large team.

They will take another Sec or BIG team with multiple losses first. It’s been set up already to happen.

Who gives a **** about conference championships when we are hopefully playing 3-4 more games after that?

Especially after playing 7 straight conference games to end the season.

Get healthy and prepare for the playoffs. Use the off week to recruit.

It doesn’t matter. UGA is gonna lose to Ole Miss who was on the ropes at home to Wash State last week. UGA will have 2 losses but will be ranked ahead of us on Sunday because “SEC gauntlet”.
It’s so easy to see. The rankings each week and the whole “SOS” criteria they are hiding behind.

I’d wager only the ACC champion gets in if it’s played between two one loss teams.

Week off is much needed.

As crazy as it sounds, even if we win out and miss the acccg we are getting left out as a 11-1, possibly top 10-12 team. Youll see the ****ery that is going to happen with the polls in the coming weeks to justify it. The acccg winner will be the only ACC invite. Apparently you’ve missed the last 8 months of very real talk that the SEC and Big deserve 4-5 bids each.
I get it, but there’s a chance that two teams Miami beat could make the playoff(Notre Dame IF they win out, and USF as the G5 invite). It would be extremely difficult to justify leaving us out with a resume like that.

This team isn’t winning a national championship. Playing for and/or winning an ACC title then losing first or second playoff game, is a better recruiting tool than not playing in the ACC game and losing in the first or second playoff game

It’s over boys. Best roster we’ve had since 2003 and our head coach is once again what will keep us from getting to the ACC championship/playoffs.

My hope is Mario doesn’t **** the rest of the season away and our 3 ranked wins put us in the top 12/playoffs

Not holding my breathe on making it to the ACC championship

Just win the rest of the games. If you don’t, you don’t have any business in the playoffs or acc championship. If you do, then you probably will have the acc championship in play, and if not, you will be a playoff team at 11-1. It’s one loss

Didn’t think the mental gymnastics to the ACCG would start this early but here we are.

Less than 5% chance of winning out but no way we are not in if we have only one loss. Two losses and forget it.

I mean, there are games that we need to go a certain way. Why wouldn't we pay attention to that?

Was in our hands, now it’s not. Thanks Mario

It's already set up to happen. All you have to do is look at the polls each week.

The narrative that the SEC is so competitive from top to bottom is what they will lean on interms of "SOS"
