He doesn’t supplement like his dad used to. I remember being on campus with Patchan and ***an, and those 2 dudes were built like comic book characters.
I used to work with a guy who grew up with ***an. They wouldn't let him play football with them because he was too scrawny.

If he can stay healthy I think he’s going to have a really nice senior season. I can see him with 8 to 10 sacks and a bunch of pressures and TFLs. He’s a very good athlete and a rangy dude.
And you couldn't ask for a more friendly and well spoken kid...I talked with him at Paradise 2yrs ago about how his injury was coming along...Hope nothing but the best for him..

Patchan's tape thus far shows he's an average athlete who's a solid run stopping DE. It also shows he's an awful pass rusher. His stats back that up. He's getting a lot of hype this off-season with finally being healthy and a good spring. I'll believe it when I see it. There's no way he starts over Hill fellas. Watch the tape from the FSU game (worst OL in the ACC) from last year to see for yourself. There’s a 3rd and 9 where he falls down attempting a speed rush around the OT. The kicker is the OL doesn't even touch him.

I think he's capable of that but I just don't think he's going to get enough reps to do it if everyone stays healthy. Hill, Garvin and Rousseau going to get a ton of reps, and it seems like Harvey likely to see some himself. But those first three guys are all likely to make it hard to keep them off the field.

Dudes had some terrible injuries and I think of last year as just getting a feel back for the bend and being comfortable in a full contact full game speed situation...

Having said that he already wasn't a super elite pass rush specialist to begin with... if he can fulfill the Trent "toolbox" Harris Role for us as I always envisioned for him then I think that would just take our DL from great to an absolute game changing difference maker every snap as you never lose a beat in pass rush or run defense

It won’t take a ton of reps to put up 8 sacks in this defense. I expect him to be the 4th DE, and there are always injuries.

Patchan hasn't been hurt the last 2 years. This is his 3rd year removed from his last injury. Remember his rs soph he asked to play TE because he wanted to get on the field and moved back to DE last year.

Ah thanks for helping my argument even more...

Toss in some injuries and then a complete position change then expect top shelf performance

He is who he is... He's going to give 150% of what he has..

I’d put the over/under at 2.5 sacks for Patchan wearing Vegas glasses. Garvin had 5.5 last year. His over/under should be closer to 8. Hill should be about the same. It wouldn’t surprise me at all to see Garvin and Hill with double digit sacks this season.

Lets be honest we are all clinging to that game Patchan had 2 yearw ago against FSU where he had numerous pressures...no way he gets much playing time this year unless he gets on the Lattimer program.. I love him he just doesnt have the talent like the guys in front of him... I agree with true floridian hes solid against the run and gets some push but hes not gonna have anywehere close to 8 sack
